My Name is Katie Steller Schultz I am 25 years old. I am a business owner, hair stylist, a mom to 2 great danes, a sister, daughter, friend and wife of almost 5 years:
Medica, I have seen your commercials, posters, billboards. They all state that YOU ARE LISTENING:
I understand that my voice is small, but I have a voice and I am going to use it. Look at my face, hear my voice: I am a person who suffers from mental illness, and I need help. I am standing up for everyone who has this challenge. Mental illness is incredibly difficult on its own, it doesn't need to be this hard to get the help that we need.

Hello Katie! (This is Michael O'Connor, who once taught you and Rosalie Carlson Spanish! I remember you because of your great gift to make me, an Irishman, laugh! ) My heart goes out to you and your plight. I don't know if you remember, but I suffer from fibromyalgia (and aplastic anemia), which means that I can very much empathize with what you are going through. Fibromyalgia, a nervous system disorder, is not unrelated to mental illness. It is invisible disease characterized by much pain, fatigue, stiffness, weakness, and intermittent cognitive symptoms such as dizziness, loss of balance, brain fog, depression, etc. Most sufferers do not even get diagnosed until about 10 years into the illness and then have many issues getting insurance to support them. I hope that I will get a chance to see you and encourage you sometime soon. Let me leave you with this promise that was given to Abraham and to you, his child: I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:2 -3 ESV) God will make a way!
