An old Tarot card spread that was lost over time

This spread is hard to find. It only uses the Major Arcana.

Great video I know this spread as a " French Cross:" first popularised by Oswald Wirth and I believe still commonplace in continental Europe. I use it extensively with the addition of placing the seperated minor trumps for more elaboration if needed.

My 1st deck showed something similar called Llew's Spread but the 1st card is placed in the middle and is always the Sun card (like a signifier). It's a 5 card spread to illuminate a situation and uses the full 78 card traditional tarot deck. Positions 1. Sun Card. This will be directly in the middle of the other 4 cards. 2. Dawn : This placement represents the situation that is manifesting. The 2nd card is placed directly to the left of the Sun card. 3. Noon : Represents the issues that cannot be ignored and is placed directly above the Sun card. 4. Dusk : Represents the help you will receive. The number for card is placed directly to the right of the Sun card. 5. Midnight : This represents the resolution of the situation and is place directly below the Sun card. It forms a cross like VP shows but is slightly different. What he uses I assume is way older than this version. "Keep Throwing Cards" -Vincent Pitisci

So glad I found this channel. It made my readings a lot easier. Love your main root words for each card. They make more sense than the booklets that come with the cards and your approach helps me to connect and gives me a strong starting point to what I see intuitively. I will be trying this spread too and I will take your advice about getting a separate deck to make the major arcana deck. Thank you. 😊

Hello Vincent, The Four winds Spread was interesting since there has been so many times that I have felt my inner voice saying the reality of this particular reading is like all I have to do is look into my visual compass and that is what I know is really happening. Obviously I was like hmm...my honesty, integrity and my sight is being tested by this client. This had me doing a visionary reading alone, after the client had left. lol, Most of the time the client had a gift in hiding and they wondered why I haven't charged for a reading from me, ever. I just smile to myself and bask in my happiness. Thanks, really clued me into this subject of my own thoughts.

I have read about this spread in a book by a french Tarot reader. But the way he explained it, the initial shuffle allowed the cards to be upside-down, so that each card can have two different meanings, regular or inverted position. But I've been noticing that most people online and most books I've seen so far don't mention that. It may be because he advocated that using only the major arcana was enough to read tarot, so there is a need to give each card a wider range of interpretations.

The difference between the layout with your car is in my mom's reading is that the middle card she would choose as representing the person she's reading for she did not number but she kept laying them around while she told the story. Sometimes she could tell me from asking her what's going on now in my life and sometimes he would tell me things to come and they would happen either within 3 months 6 months let me tell you she was good. When I was young but she doesn't remember now she used to place the cards put the card in the middle represent in the person Glenda cross but then between the left card and the top card between those two cards she would have a part face inside nose but she can't remember doing now you can explain to me but let me tell you she was spot-on on everything she said you would end up coming true in the sense that I had a choice the situation but they would come up situations it's pretty cool I love your books and I like how you explain them. I love the way you explain it in your books and your name is videos and I know that you have to be a great leader just by your videos.

I have watched alot of your videos so far liked them all so Thanks. Oh I made signs with a printing machine when I was young like you in the picture. It reminded me of when I was young. I ran a type machine and made rubber stamps, sharpened sissors and also did engravings for placks, trophies and jewelry . I had forgotten that until I watched this. It is funny how we forget things and call them by different things later on.

I think the deck you made reminds me of the Morgan Greer deck brings everything big and close. The backs being with blue and stars like that too. The TDM is beautiful that you used. I only have a few of them. I do like the style of it very much good job. It makes them personable alot of things it makes them special. Do you use a blue jeans bag too? That is a great idea as well. The books you showed you wrote looks like something I would like to have . I need to be more knowledgeable looks like it is packed full of information. When I looked back at the viedo to see your deck again I seen your box I like that too. The big one what's that on the top of it? The little box I had one like that once.

But I notice your end number of Death 13, Strength 8or11 and Devil 15 is either 36 or 39 depending on Strength being an 8 or an 11. 36 = 9 the Hermit and 39 = 12 the Hanged Man, Hope this helps! I'd like to invent/reinvent new spreads. I've never been one to do any job the cookie cutter ways, not to put it on my zodiac combination or mental personality, it's just how I've always been. Took the Myers Briggs test and came out being an INFP, that with being a Leo/Virgo cusp, it's a unique mix that I've come to accept in my very recent awakening to spirituality.

Nice photo ! I knew you was handsome, still is with a mysterious look. Question, what kind of decks do you recommend for a beginner? I bought a deck, and I am quite not connecting with, it has its own interpretations right in the bottom of each card, and it disturbs my creative thinking, like it doesn’t blend well with mines, well it gives me ideas by guiding me else where, so then I feel it’s not the right path, I feel it wastes my time, well now I just can’t make up my mind in which deck to choose, even the images on them I don’t like, any recommendations ?

Hello Heymi, Thanks for your kind words! Yes, they do make a lot of Tarot decks now with meanings typed onto the cards. I think that limits your perception of how the card works for a question being looked into. I don't blame you for not liking that on your deck. If you are just starting, I would suggest getting the Rider Waite and the Tarot of Marseille. Those two decks will get you going pretty well. The Traditional Tarot of Marseille is a very basic Tarot deck and I feel it is to your advantage to know it even if you don't use it. The Rider Waite is a deck that has pretty much become a standard look since about 1970. Most books on the Tarot will use the Rider deck as examples to describe the cards, including my books. Hope this helps and thanks for watching! More videos to come soon. Best to you - Vincent

What if the 5th card is in play but a two digit number, like 12. You already have 12 in the four winds. Should you add up the 3 others not including 12, or reduce 12 to 3? Nitpicking, I know. HA! Anne

Namaste Vincent. In Genius of the Tarot you explained a situation when a card comes in fifth position which is already in use. I came across a same situation but in this situation even not taking that card in number count is yielding the same problem North 7, south 16, east 4 and west is 9 and fifth position 9 comes and even of you omit 9 from the count then also 9 comes. Please guide.

That hermit wants to be heard, He repeats itself, lol. this is the magic of the 9. All the multiples of 9, when adding the numbers give 9, 18, 27, 36, 45,and so on. 2+7=9, 3+6=9, 1+8=9, 4+5=9....When the moon or hermit are in the spread, it could happen.

At the time they seemed important for me to make but after awhile....it's just another deck of cards. I remember I got in a lot of trouble for making those cards using expensive company supplies. The owner put up with it but he didn't like it. Ha! I'm sure you will end up with many special Tarot things yourself as time goes on. Best to you Gypsy. Vincent

Hello Krishna. I use the 5th cards as a wrap-up to the reading. See if it shows you some little extra insight into the reading. You can make it be used for whatever you like. I think originally it was used as a final outcome. So long ago I'm not really sure anymore. Hope this helps in some way.
