Tucked in the mountains of the Italian island of Sardinia is the village of Villagrande, which has one of the highest concentrations of centenarians in the world. I was just thinking how my mother could work circles around me when she was my age. That lady that lives by herself does not look 💯 years old. She looks good!

I think working all your life, a protein rich diet and wine in moderation is the key to good health along with friends and family.

Give it up to the incredible artists' work! There's one, an older lady in photo realism that's always had me wondering: How *do they DO that?* A few days ago I heard that Italy's the best IQ country.

The thing you quote was from a book named IQ and the wealth of the nation written by prof Lynn, which ranked the Germans and the Dutch as the people Who scored the highest IQ at 107 points on average.

I'm full blooded Italian. My parents were married for 75 years. Passed away two years ago, ten months apart, both in their 90's. My mother from Luco Dei Marci, Italy. My dad Naples, Italy. Their families moved to the U.S. and both sides had the same regimen as those in Sardinia, Italy. Longevity runs on both sides of my family. My generation (babEry boomers) living in a more modern culture in the U.S. are not so fortunate. Several of us have cancer in our 60's & 70's. Non-genetic. The causes are environmental.

It seems the elderly have value in this culture. In addition, how does Sardinia, or for that matter Italy as a whole, compare to the increasing violence in america? Do they mine, or use toxic chemicals such as to produce food, etc? Have we looked at the entire picture, or just a small part of it?
