Thank u! Too bad for this repair. I held this phone for an extra bit waiting to record a video only to find that the "long screw damage" wasn't anywhere near typical. I should have known better!

I fully appreciate that you went for it even though it didn't work out. I learned so much during your process. You've got mad skills to talk through the whole thing explaining and pointing things out as you go. Hard luck but now you know what to tell the customer. I wonder if you will eventually have a bunch of failure signatures in IR that might help diagnose these problems rather quickly in the future and save you lots of time and effort. Hey bro. Measure the RAM lines. Looks like a short. Then just separate RAM from CPU and replace RAM. I have a safe and easy technique for that. Even CPU was taken out before. If you need any help or support just hit me up 💯.

I use wooden toothpicks to scrub face ID components and camera lenses when needed. Wood makes nice non-scratch tools!

This level of rework has increased my successful jobs per week consistently. I try to only do it when there is a good reason with decent odds of success. The board in this video was almost a guaranteed failure after seeing the CPU short. This video may actually prove one day that I did NOT damage that CPU! LOL

Great work. I just picked up a bottle of Mechanic S-60 BGA IC Strong Glue Removal solution. Its supposed to make it easy at removing the underfill on Apple CPU's. I have yet to try it, but you should definitely look into it!

Thank you! I am very glad for that to have been successful! Many videos on this channel had the "hands view" recorded with a galaxy S9 plus. That phone had to die so yours could be recovered! I had a donor just for it but some comonents were still needed. It's been upgraded now tho! 🙂

Thank you! I am going to try this. I have only ever tried flux, IPA and acetone.

Interesting you being careful when cooling lifted chips. I have seen lots of videos where techs use alcohol on very recently changed components. Thermal shock would be an issue I believe.

I am using wooden sticks that are originally used as spoon replacements at coffee shops. I just cut the ends at 45 degree angle.

Welcome back1 Love the videos! I wonder if there's some way to dissolve the glue under the CPU with solvents without destroying the cpu? Would be something curious to test. Acetone or Dichloromethane? Might be a bit too strong though.

Thank u! I think people are actually using Dichloromethane with great success. I'm going to try something stronger soon. I've only ever used IPA, acetone & flux.

It's a roll of the dice my friend. But you did a very good job in the very least.

I fill my tip with 138 and collect and mix all the pins. After that i use air and as soon as pins melt with 138 now i use a non sharped round blade and remove all with solder and black glue together

Hello thanks for watching my videos! Sorry but I only have my one functional microscope. The scope I upgraded from got damaged when we moved but we're fixing it for another station now.

IDK if citrastrip would work to dissolve the glue or if it would destroy the CPU. I mean just a small layer of that stuff on any painted metal makes paint come right off. I would think the same would happen with glue. But don’t know if it would peel the dye apart. Maybe you can try it out on a broken cpu.
