You know what is so wonderful about Stephanie? Her positivity. Her overflowing and abundant joy. She is never negative (at least on camera). She builds others up. She supports others efforts and gives credit where credit is due. Even when "Chtastrophies" (a Lalande thing) happen, no blame is placed, just positive efforts to fix things end up on camera. Even when her private life was outed on TV, never did she once worry about herself, just the people this might impact, she did not take the culprit to task. Publicly support your supporters and privately address those people hurting you. Your subscribers and your wallet will thank you.

Wow! That find of roof tiles is wonderful. Once the floor is formed up, that above garage space is really quite lovely! Would make a wonderful apartment space. Bats might need to move eventually but it’s nice that they are taking care of mosquitos and bugs for you, in the meanwhile. Glad you met Stephanie and her crew finally! I adore the Chateau Diaries family and I hope you all become great friends.

Either as an apartment or as the space for the bedrooms and bathrooms for the farmhouse. We love our bats. We have quite a few bats zooming around the property and courtyard. I held my breath and had every muscle clenched as if I was holding up the entire floor of the barn as you walked across it. My motherly instincts were wanting to yell out to be careful. Hi Carole. 😘. We first looked at the joists from the ground floor and they are all sound and sturdy and the wood floor is better than it looks. Buried under a lot of dirt. I love your concern! The space is fantastic and will, hopefully, become the bedrooms for the farmhouse. Stephanie and Philip were so kind and are truly even kinder and friendlier than they seem in the vlog. We stayed at Lalande last summer; as you say, its a magical chateau. Listening to your comments about the meeting; I said to Stephanie at the time that I wished that I hadn't seen any of the You Tube stuff - because I felt like I just wanted to start from scratch and ask all sorts of questions about the building and her journey there. Vivienne and her daughter were also staying for the the first time - totally charming. Thanks for another lovely episode guys. I am currently painting the ceiling in the Gite and watching this as it's toooo hot outside 🥰

So thrilled for you that you’re finally in France, living the dream! I totally get why Stephanie kept your dream alive. I also found Château diaries in lockdown and devoured every single episode with joyful glee. She is an inspiring young lady and has the nicest, kindest people around her. Escape to the Chateau recommend you highly, so I decided to check out your site. I like what I see and look forward to following your adventures. Patrick think of how much more food and wine you can have , because you have to walk behind the lawnmower. Ask Steve and Sarah how long it took for them to get their stuff from Canada.

Patrick you make me laugh. I hope things get smoother for you both in order to achieve your goals. So glad your dogs are no longer escaping, that must have been stressful. So sorry you got poor customer service from the van rental and getting your ride on mower. I applaud you for calling those guys out. Also awesome that you both got a great welcome into the group of chatteau owners. I am certain you can learn from some of their experiences. Best wishes guys and see you sooner than later I hope.

Oh I am so happy you got together with my favorite chatelaines to share your experiences. I am sure in no time you will be right up there with their fame and fortune, it will come. Maybe you should ask one of your chateau neighbours or friends if you can rent one of there van . I’m sure they wouldn’t mind or help you both one day . I don’t know it’s just a suggestion. Hope you had a great at Stephanie’s chateau .Stephanie is a sweetheart watching her for about three years . I miss seeing her mummy and Percy been there . I absolutely love Gerry been there every now and then always lots of fun when he is there .

I just found you because of The chateaux diaries of Stephanie, mentioned you. I am so happy to follow your adventures. We live in the south of France ( côte d'Azur) . I see you have all of your dogs in France now, lovely!

Gee you two make me laugh! Instructions!! My hubby and I are the same! I would want to read them, and he just went ahead and got on with it! For the most part he was right! We are separated but very close. Amazing space you guys found, again so much potential. Its like treasure hunt to me. And visiting La Lande, how wonderful. I so enjoy Chateau Diaries. Beautiful people. I finally booked my first post covit flight to Brisbane Queensland, Its so wet and cold here in Melbourne right now, its toime for a warmer get away!

The space above the garage with it's intricate woodwork would make a beautiful appartment some day. Looking forward to what you're gonna do with the most perculiar metal stovepipe that seems to vent out into the room. Thank you for the opportunity to accompany you two on your journey in and about the chateau and discover new/old things :-)

I think Stephanie rented a van when she was picking up that room that she bought.

Get some weed and feed and a spreader. Put that on the lawn before in rains. It works so well. We just used it. Here in Pennsylvania. Everyone else uses a lawn service. Ours is looking pretty good.👍😘

I don't think weed and feed is pet safe. We need to use options right now that are safe for the dogs.

Good morning Patrick & Stuart, that was interesting the two doors for outside were the same! Usually the front door is more ornate, well to each's own as they say. The garden is starting to get structure for sure. It was most interesting when you opened the small door above the garage. They sure knew abut saving spaces. It looks like there are some missing tiles on the roof, that can be sorted perhaps from the inside. I think a cherry picker would be just the job, it is much safer and very versatile. Billy proved that from Doing it ourselves fame. It is great to chat with other Chateau owners they can share the do's and don'ts or just watch their videos. Dogs are like kids, they are a great responsibility and I am afraid they do come first before pleasures. I am sure shortly, maybe the next summer season you will also be able to host your own socials, and I just know it will be very smart and nice, not trying to out do anyone else, just be yourselves. Enjoyed your video, so good when you can have a good laugh about yourselves. Don't let those figs go to waste, start preparation for making jam. It is easy and remember to add some ginger, it is an amazing flavour. Do take care in the meantime, looking forward to your next episode of life at the Chateau. Also hoping your tools will arrive shortly, believe in miracle they still happen. Kind regards and blessings.

Wow! That roof space is awesome. And the connection to the other space is perfect for creating connected facilities etc. I don’t need to say but will anyway🤣. Make sure you immediately make some of those roof gaps water proof to save any further damage. How wonderful for Stephanie to keep you both in her mind and offer you to stay. It makes it so much easier that you have liked minded people whom have been there and done it. Experience and support is everything! 💕

I think a lot of us chateau lovers started with Stephanie's vlog. I actually started with Dick and Angel Strawbridge on Escape to the Chateau, and then Chateau DIY, which introduced us to Stephanie, Anna and Edd, Phillip and Anna, Phil and Angelina, Marc and Amy, and from there spawned all the other wonderful chateau owners, some of whom we met when they stayed at La Lande, or were friends of friends, including all the Pethericks, Selmar, Steve and Sara, Curtis, Dan, Simon and Vivienne, along with all the friends made along the way...both of you, Terry and Ash, Adrian and Carole, Suzie and Rols, Julia and Carolina, and my favorite new family of renovators, Jake and Danielle from the Chateau de Bruges. There are a few others too, apologies for not listing every one of them haha, and as long as you keep making these wonderful vlogs, we'll continue to be enthralled! Oh, and btw, I love all your doggies!
