Sentinel Surveillance are selected (pre-arranged) health providers/institutions tasks to give reports. Example, the ministry/department of health made an agreement with hospital A that whenever they see Case X, they have to report immediately to their health office. The difference with Passive surveillance is that it is not pre-arranged. Example, all health facilites are mandated to send weekly or monthly reports of their cases.

While monitoring sounds like the disease is already there and you are following it's progression, surveillance involves looking out for the existence of a condition.

Surveillance is gathering information to take action. Monitoring doesn't require action. Monitoring is only one part of the Surveillance system.

Dear "Let's learn Public Health", I really enjoy your content. Most informative. I just find the hand and pen seriously distracting and uncomfortable to watch. Is there any way to watch without having this random movement , half covering the written word, leaping about the page constantly?
