An introduction to a neonatal unit: Entering the neonatal unit for the first time
This video is the second in a series of five short videos that will introduce you to life on a neonatal unit.
This series is designed to show you some of the things you might come across on the unit, how you can get involved with your baby's care and what support is available for families both on the unit and at home.
This particular video will tell you what to expect when entering the neonatal unit for the first time, such as seeing your premature and sick baby for the first time, the noises of the various machines used to care for your baby, the temperature and smell. It also explains what the different machines are for.
