The 2006 Vilcek Prize in the Arts was awarded to Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Here, in an exclusive interview with the Vilcek Foundation, Christo and Jeanne-Claude speak about their work and lives as artists.
The Vilcek Prize is awarded annually to individuals born abroad who have made lasting contributions to society in the United States through extraordinary achievement in biomedical research or arts and letters. Two prizes are awarded each year, one in biomedical research and one in the arts or humanities, in a field designated annually by the Foundation, including fine art, architecture, music, drama, literature and others.

@@aleksandarskachkov105 Считай се за добре дошъл да напуснеш тогава родината си, щом желаеш. Но без принадлежност към дадено място или общество, човек е обречен да се лута безцелно. И тук говоря за родина, НЕ държава.

Wait till you learn what a nation state is… как е възможно да има толкова ограничени същества в нашата държава. И да, комунистическа България е била тъпа, особенно тази в 50те, в която бащата на Кристо е лежал в затвора, само защото не е идвал от просто селско потекло. И много други са лежали без съд и присъда. Само простите селяндури са били доволни, защото тяхното време е настанало. Прости малки души. Поне прочете Георги Марков, да ви стане ясно за какво е ставало дума.
