As soon as I had heard that you needed the internet to install the initial update patch I grew very concerned because I didn't want to buy a live service game that you needed to be on the internet constantly in order to play it. It's worth noting with the Vimm's Lair situation that the takedowns are super inconsistent. The entire GameCube library is still up, a bunch of 1st party franchises like Smash Bros. haven't been taken down, and it's super weird. I feel like Nintendo would be more thorough and brutal. It feels like whomever filed the takedowns just looked up phrases like "Mario", "Zelda" and "Pokemon" for takedowns and hit send.

Lmao, stfu. Elden Ring on Xbox still requires 20-25gb on top of what is on the disc and people don’t seem to care. Not saying Ubisoft shouldn’t go without criticism, but seeing people consistently go after another corporation and then relentlessly defend and ignore FromSoft in spite of how unfinished they release most their games (horrific frame dips mostly) is just out and out pox. Elden Ring launched a mess in terms of freezes and frame dips. Haven’t seen FromSoft catch as much heat as they should have when compared to the likes of Ubisoft.

Yasuke was a rather minor and historically irrelevant retainer, essentially a bag boy for Nobunaga for a mere 15 months before eventually leaving Japan and falling out of the records entirely. Modern people have twisted and distorted the actual history so much to make him seem far more important than he ever was, its insane.

What irks me with PS+ was Sony's abrupt introduction to the tier system and their respective prices which was eventually followed up with a price hike of each tier. I just want to play online with family & friends whenever there's a game we're all into but I don't want to pay $80/year for that option. Sony should implement a 4th low cost (I'm thinking $30-$40 or less a year) tier that is more budget friendly that allows folks to play online + upload cloud data and that's it. No "free" ability to download monthly PS+ games.

Everytime Hi-fi Rush gets brought up now, it's just a further reminder what could have been with a Switch port. But I guess we will never know what could have been with that.

Honestly playing it on the steam deck sometimes I will say it would get the system pretty hot so I don't know how it would have worked with the switch really. Don't get me wrong if they could have made their magic I definitely would support it!

Secondly, Microsoft has 40 studios and could have other studios make hifi rush if they want. EA and Microsoft are nowhere near comparable just because both have shut down studios. It's simply an overreaction. Why do you only care here? Will you boycott GTA 6 because Take-Two shut down two studios and laid off devs? Do you keep that same energy when Sony just laid off large number of devs from Insomniac and Naughty Dog? Likely not, the inconsistency from the youtube gaming community is wild

People seem to forget the that Bill Gates wanted to enter the gaming market to take over the living room with a Windows device and the Xbox was that Trojan horse to do just that. Microsoft was never interested in gamer first long term strategy, rather they wanted the entertainment all in one Windows based device in each room, didn’t mean it would be their hardware but eventually licensing their OS to other vendors that would use their hw to run a version of Windows and gaming was just the quickest way to have it adopted by the traditional family that couldn’t afford a PC.

They can't. Their 1st party games suck right now. If they went 3rd party, then that would change to their 3rd party games would suck. If Halo Infinite was in the top FPS games, and Gears 5 was top rated, we wouldn't even be having these conversations.

They were. The original story had a Japanese protagonist. Then SBI got involved, and of course they had to change it to a black protagonist, because SBI is racist and don't want to see diversity in games.

Ubisoft always does this with Assassin's Creed. Cinematic trailer and then gameplay at their Ubisoft Forward/E3.

We left the historically accurate Assassin's Creed a while ago. Yeah, that's half of why I left. The other half was Desmond as my tether. I was invested. When they abandoned him I played for a couple more games to see if they'd bring him back, but ultimately I decided to give up hope on that old storyline that felt cut off at the ankles by whoever made that decision.

I’d be curious to see if ps plus numbers continue to drop. It seems like a lot of people dropped it when the prices went up, but some might have done year long subscriptions if they could before the prices increases.

It's almost like the Activision Blizzard buyout going through was actually the worst thing that could happen to XBox. $68 Billion + is not an easy or quick amount of money to recoup even with the likes of Call of Duty now under your belt, at the end of the day it seems Sony and Nintendo are the ones who are going to benefit the most from it all.

I just got the RG556. It's a little more expensive but it has an OLED screen and plays up to Gamecube and PS2. Everything looks amazing on that screen.

Hi-Fi Rush can still release an update but Redfall is sitting on their offline patch, absolutely unbelievable, Microsoft doesn't care about game preservation at all.

Seems like this Project Latitude is Satya Nadellas move due to how much Activision cost them which seems to undermine Gamepass.

It's been well over a week and nobody is mentioning the 360 Microsoft store closing in July. Very odd.

An actual Japanese character would be nice. You have countless thousands of historical Japanese men to pick from across history and they go with the SINGULAR black man from the historical footnotes. We all know why they did it and its kinda ridiculous at this point. But you know whos REALLY pissed about this unsurprisingly? The Japanese. Believe it or not Assassin's Creed was actually rather popular in Japan, especially the earlier ones with Ezio but it still has a large following. This has angered them immensely.

​@@JJAB91I just don't get it. The Japanese end up like us Native Americans at times. Just swapped out. If you pay attention, it happens alot. Unfortunately, I had noticed it more and more. Of course, I am not saying that the races can not be in a particular game, but it is probably more depressing than anything when it continously happens. I was excited for SF6, I was really happy to see someone from the Thunderfoot tribe and then they went and made her look nothing like what she should've been (and voiced by a non Native at that). The ONE redskin I was looking forward to, blah. Japanese tend to get other "Asians" to play roles that should go to them, and now this.

An era when you still play an assassin at the time and still have mostly fairly accurate characters from history just recontexctualized in the Templar storyline. Now you have different playstyles that muddied the whole assassin's theming, and at the moment giving some extra liberties on real people like Yasuke that may or may not be plausible, but its definitely inspired by the tall tales that he was a true samurai than a retainer. Altho who knows how far they change in the game, especially since they lean more on fantasy subplots than science fantasy these days. I do wonder what people prefer, the futurisitc lost civilization subplot, or whacky fantasy subplot in the rpg era assassin's creed.

Clone wars has some sick multiplayer modes including a base-capture proto-MOBA, a coliseum survival, and a random survival mode with heroes/jedi on foot.

Ubisoft has ruined the assassin's creed name.

Clone Wars was a fantastic game and a core memory for me, but I'm still bitter that you couldn't use the invincibility cheat with a friend in the co-op endurance mode, as you had to defeat each other every few rounds. Great idea, slight oversight, personal problem; all still great memories.

The GBA SP was my first console I personally owned. I was super excited to get it for Christmas after enjoying it with my family's monthly Blockbuster visits, as well as after playing my older sibling's GBA for a while. They traded some crazy valuable Yugioh cards for that.

I always saw SP as the game changer design wise- it was the be all end of of portable design. Nintendo carried a folding design all the way to the 3ds XL and we could see it again with the next Gen switch.....

Forget Assassins Creed. Play Ghost of Tsushima. A critically acclaimed, authentic Samurai game.

Actually the new assassins creed is the first major AAA game to launch on Mac simultaneously with all the other platforms. Good sign for Mac gaming.

With Assassin’s Creed & Yasuke, I was also under the impression of him being a DEI character but after doing some research, Yasuke was featured in other games & media prior to now like he was in Nioh 1 & 2 as the Obsidian Samurai & in Samurai Warriors 5, he was also in some comics based on Japanese history that released in the 2010s so Yasuke is an actual historical figure but we’re not told or shown different races mixed into certain cultures when we learn history. I read that when Nobunaga Oda first met Yasuke he thought he was covered in dirt & forced him to take a bath & was shocked his skin remained the same.

I wonder how the budget for high quality mobile games compares to console games?

Ubisoft just killed AC for me. Oh well.

HOLY SH**! I can't believe Star Wars: The Clone Wars is coming to PS classics. I remember playing this with my brother on the Xbox back in the day. I'd pick the AAT and snipe him in multiplayer. That game was so fun. I hope Star Wars: Obi Wan gets a port as well. Not sure I'm going to be re-subbing to PSN, even with Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Yasuke was a black samurai during time of Oda Nobunaga. He's was brought over by the Portuguese. That was real you can look it up. Its well know to Japanese people. There is even movie in production about the subject. The historical accounts of how he was received in Japan are hilarious and fascinating. You should really look into it.

I don't think anyone has an issue with black characters in that sort of setting. Everyone loves all the black characters in Naruto and Bleach for example. I think people are just upset that they shoe-horned in this when it obviously should have been a japanese dude. You could have had someone way more prominent like Date Masamune or something. I get its fiction, but it's just a weird feeling. And I'm black too.

@@NuiYabuko because 1. He wasn’t a samurai. And 2. kishimoto isn’t saying Naruto is real history. If you don’t see a clear difference between having actual diverse characters and shoehorned DEI entries, then I’m not sure how to explain that to you.

The only reason I know that DC reference at all is because I saw every season of the Supergirl TV show. I'm glad I got the reference and Brainy was my favorite character 😆

Looking at emulation now is weird. Back in 08 64 and gba emulators were really good. Which was less than a decade from their release. Ps3 and 360 were almost 2 decades and still need a lot of work

As a little tip when pronouncing Japanese names in the future: When a name ends in "suke," assume the "u" is silent. So, for example, "Yasuke" is pronounced "Yahs-keh" not "Yah-soo-keh." Technically it's not entirely silent, but Japanese people do not emphasize the "u" in those names so you can only hear it if you listen really, really closely.

In other words, a man who received land from a feudal lord in return for homage and loyalty. _A black man was taken on as a vassal by Nobunaga-sama and received a stipend. His name was decided to be Yasuke. He was also given a short sword and a house. He was sometimes made to carry Nobunaga-sama's tools_ _The black man understood a little Japanese, and Nobunaga never tired of talking with him. And because he was strong and could do a few tricks, Nobunaga took great pleasure in protecting him and had him roam around the city of Kyoto with an attendant. Some people in the town thought that Nobunaga might make him as tono_ (a lord) source: the italicized passages are from the records of the Society of Jesus of Japan, where wikipedia got the info/

Yasuke was a rather minor and historically irrelevant retainer, essentially a bag boy for Nobunaga for a mere 15 months before eventually leaving Japan and falling out of the records entirely. Modern people have twisted and distorted the actual history so much to make him seem far more important than he ever was, its insane. He was never this big deal people like to claim he was.
