Oh yes!!!!
Other than the finished products, the best thing about your videos is the titles that give nothing away; this means watching without preconceived ideas, and being able to watch your mastery unfold!
Never in a million years would I have guessed that the turning would turn out like this. This is a piece of art.

Everything Olivier does is absolutely amazing. And don't let anyone tell you this isn't art. It definitely is.
Olivier... as a math professor I wonder how proud your geometry teachers must and should be.

@Carlos Magno Martins Cosme -- As an artist who can come up with some pretty wild spacial drawings, I have to tell you I stunk at geometry. I just could not memorize all those bleepin' theorems. (I now know I have ADHD.) In art I can just do, I don't have to explain or 'prove' my work. I did better in algebra, lol...abstract and I go way back. I really hope it's sooner then later when our nationwide education system learns how to fit the teachings to the child instead of forcing all children to learn by one teaching method. It flat out doesn't work. AND I hope that all children are taught to their strengths. I was teaching art to my 5th grade class. (My teacher loved it.) I have been a creator all my life. Trying to memorize endless math facts was literally torture to me. It wasn't because I wasn't trying, & it certainly wasn't because I was stupid. It was because I think differently.

@@revdupartist9386 Memorisation doesn’t always work for ADHD brains (unless it’s related to our Special Interests); we often need to understand what’s actually going on in order to remember. Rote learning might “work” for a lot of people, but it rarely does for us.

@@ragnkja -- With ADHD I am able to 'hyperfocus' for a certain amount of time. It almost exclusively works with art, either doing my own or looking at other's. However. that can't continue for very long. My own physical, mental, emotional, & Spiritual health requires me to have breaks from that. With the internet...oy... I can head down the first rabbit hole then another & another, & if I'm not mindful - on some level - I'm down about 3-4 hours of getting all kinds of ideas for possible art projects. Some notes get taken, some just don't, but all of the ideas are in a greymatter storage area fermenting, perhaps with Koji, Saki, Steamed Barley, & a bit of Sugar. Trust me when I tell you there are ZERO stacks of dates, numbers, formulas (recipe exceptions), theorems, stats, etc... hanging out just waiting for shits & giggles. ZERO. The other problem I have is double vision PLUS one eye that has a mind of it's own. OY!!! I had a difficult reading and had to read passages several times to actually know what it said. My teachers thought I had 'issues' of comprehension. They didn't bother to notice my bifocals & trifocals when I was in grade school. 😮 And of course, they didn't know anything about ADHD. My 'HD' manifested differently than others. It still does. Whether it's my toes and/or fingers are almost always moving. My whole body can sway. Plus I'm NEVER doing just one thing, except when I'm Meditating. (Thank God for Meditation.) Right now I'm writing this and watching TV about gardening (LOVE gardening), planning what to make for dinner, swaying, & scrunching my toes. So nothing much. LOL...

@@revdupartist9386 Hyperfocus is indeed an uncontrollable beast, and one that tends to neglect our physical needs. I’m sure you, like me, have forgotten to eat and sleep because you were hyperfocusing. And yeah, “stacks of dates” (classic examples of rote memorisation) aren’t exactly our thing, because our brains like stories and connections, not individual facts. Neurotypical brains also prefer that, but it’s more obvious with us.

@revdupartist9386 I have ADHD ad well but I also don't have a creative bone in my body lol. the one thing I've been able to keep focus on is carpentry and woodworking. well video games too but im not good enough to make a living off that so carpentry it is.
AWESOME !!!!! I am glad you showed this from start to finish because unless you are a turner, people do not understand what is involved in making a hollow form like that. Great Job.
Your brain works much differently than mine. I’d never be able to think out these patterns, to get the end result. Absolutely amazing my friend. Keep up the great work.

He may not have known ahead of time what the sides would look like. Putting the wood together in an interesting way, then carving it down on the lathe to see what it looks like is something anyone can do.
Olivier...your work belongs in a museum...kudos...Lester
Bonjour. Vous êtes un champion
I’ll never understand how you’re so precise! Another beautiful piece, this one reminds me of a hot air balloon!
Some wicked kind of magic…. Take straight, rectangle pieces of wood, cut them into triangles and turn them into a curved piece of art. I am always in awe of your work, Sir. Please don’t stop.
If the person at the store who purchased this item, could see this video in how it was made from start to finish, they would have a much greater appreciation for their purchase. They see it on the shelf and it looks beautiful, but they don't see what went into bringing it all together. Beautiful work!
This one looks like it's ready to take flight!
As an ex-bench jeweler, your ability to have your glue joints match so well, would do service to most gem-stone faceters. Well done Sir, well done !!!
Beautiful. I love how the straight lines become curves when turned!

From the video, it looks like it took about 86 seconds👍🏻.
Holy freakin Batman that’s awesome sir
Unusual creation! Great job!
Amazing skill
Au delà de la maîtrise du tournage, il y a le plus de la préparation et de l’originalité de la pièce à venir ! Du grand art ! Bravo….
This is one of the coolest woodturning videos I've ever seen. This pattern is astonishing!
You always seem to find a way to amaze. Even on your basic turns, the end results are stunning. Great work Olivier!
I always enjoy watching how the patterns come together and create the final product but I also enjoy learning the small things that often get over looked. That little stepped caul you used to minimize waste and help ur layout was nice little bit of knowledge. One of those.. "why didn't I think of that.." things

Another GORGEOUS looking piece, Mr. Gomis. Out of all the wordturners that I watch (and I watch quite a few), I think the works that you produce are the most beautiful! Keep up the good work! :)

Bonsoir, très beau et original vase. Bravo.
Hi Oliver, another brilliant video of fantastic work, that vase looks incredible. Thank you so much for sharing this video 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I imagine that if Tim Burton watched this video, he would write an entire movie around this piece as the Mcguffin of his plot (like the one ring, the Holy Grail, or the Force from Star Wars). Absolutely beautiful vase. Keep up the great work. I hope to see many more projects from you and your channel.
Wow Olivier that is awesome and stunningly beautiful magnificent and spectacular.
