Finally someone recognizes the talent and contribution of Charlie Baty. No other artist has impacted and inspired my life musically as much as he has. For those that have seen him live....will understand...those who havent....have an awful void to fill. A six string daredevil, mixing styles and crossing boundaries..taking you so close to the edge..and pulling the air from your lungs while your mouth is hanging open........Im ordering a CD just because of your recognition of him......bravo...and thank you

Damian, a big THANK YOU for recognizing Charlie Baty on this lesson. He doesn't get enough appreciation. Little Charlie and the Nightcats have been an inspiration to my playing for many years. Anyone who wants a good fretboard workout should check out Wildcattin. I've been working on that for years, always room for improvement. Charlie is the West Coast Jump King. I can hear him in this lesson. What a sound. Thanks again for doing this one.

Damian, your channel is awesome. I've consumed a bunch of your lessons here on you tube and absolutely love them. You have a great approach to teaching and I love how you also cover the history of the music, and tell us little bit about the great players themselves. I of course want more, but not sure where I should start (I'm probably going to buy both courses). Which one should I dive into first Good Rocking Guitar, or Ultimate Rockabilly Guitar? Is one more difficult than the other? Thanks for putting out all this great content. You Rock!

Thanks Don. Glad you're digging the onscreen tabs. I create the tabs using a really old tab program. Although it's old and basic, it does the job. Then I use my video editor to sync up each of the notes individually with the audio. A buddy of mine told me if I used Guitar Pro I will be able to do the same thing without all the hard work I'm currently doing lol. I need to take some time and check out Guitar Pro. :) Keep on rockin' DAMIAN

Thanks for watching. You'll hear those exact pull off licks played in the key of G on songs like Johnny Burnette's "Lonesome Train" & The Stray Cats "Too Hip Gotta Go". Playing those pull offs onto the open strings works best in G. In the other keys it doesn't transpose well.

Hi Damian - on the first lick (the fast pull-off), you appear to be using your 1st and 3rd fingers - I don't have the hand-span to do that very easily. Is there any reason not to use the 1st and 4th ('pinky') to effect the pull-off?
