    Wow, M/Y Valere punches way above its size when it comes to layout and capabilities. Good job on the builders and owner of this boat! Plus, also nice video and storytelling. Your content continues to improve with each video!

    Nice yacht Jared. My question is about the inflated toys, if you're in one place for 2-3 days do they stay out or cleaned and put away each night?

  • @grondhero

    @grondhero

    3 жыл бұрын

    From my understanding, they're put away each day. A comment I've seen on those big, inflatable slides is that they're a pain. Takes the crew an hour to assemble and an hour to put away, and the guests only use them for about 30 minutes.

    Hi Jared, i just watched your crew salary video & got curious about tips for charters vs privately owned yacht. I've seen some pretty big tips on "Below Deck"; 25000USD tip for a couple of days charter but i guess not even billionare yacht owner hands out 25000USD dollar tip every other day so...Any info about what tip the crew gets (i know it various greatly but..) for working on a privately owned non charter yacht?

  • @jaredwatney

    @jaredwatney

    3 жыл бұрын

    Tips are so different for each boat as each yacht has a different tonnage and so some fetch higher prices per week due to larger tonnage but still have the same amount of crew as other boats their length. Americans can be known to tip 20%. European between 5% and 15%+ it’s literally impossible to give you a tip ball park figure to be honest. Sorry I can’t be more specific

    @@jaredwatney I think that is a perfect answer! That type of info can be really personal, so I wouldn't expect crew to hand that out. That being said, I think a percentage is a perfectly good number to base things off of due to the price of the charter. I would assume that the price of most charters take into account the size of the yacht (length or tonnage) and subsequent number of crew it takes to serve aboard and provide a certain amount of service. Love you insight into this industry and the behind the scenes photography.

    Nice video as usual, but honestly never understood the charter business. You could easily stay at an all inclusive 5 star with food/drinks covered for 1/5th of the price per week. I've done that every year for the last 15 years and still scuba dive, run around on jet skis, island hopping, and get to explore a whole island vs being stuck on a Yacht. Having a personal chef and crew is nice but not 5x nicer.

    Different strokes for different folks; some prefer winter snow skiing vacays while another prefers palm trees and sandy beaches. Yachting is just a completely different lifestyle.

    It's not that bizarre of a location. Little saint James and great saint James aren't in the middle of no where. They're extremely close to both saint thomas and Saint John u can see them in the video. They were just chillin in the US Virgin Islands and great saint James is right in the middle. There's so many boats always in the bay in great saint James cause it's just a nice location and it's right next to saint thomas

    I enjoy the professionalism of Jared's work but I just don't get the ego that spends $52,000 to be the center of attention for a week.
