Holy shit, this guide helps so much. It makes me want to take another crack at playing Sage. Made everything easier to understand. The names of the abilities certainly don't make things easier on players. Hopefully this will be a healer I actually like playing, cause who doesn't want Gundam Wings?

I have literally agonized over understanding what ANYTHING means since Sage came out. This was such a great guide.

I feel I am a doctor when I brust out those skill names.

The biggest issue I have for sage is the consistent back to back spell tranforns spell into shield. The button smashing kills my hand, I wonder, is there is a easier way to apply the shield besides just back and forth on the same two buttons? I am on controller so mouse doesn't make it much easier.

Does this and reaper have a class quest? I ask cus it looks like in shadow bringers class specific quests are replaced with the 4 role quests but it seems strange not to give the 2 new ones an introductory quest line for its first 10 levels.

The names of all the skills of sage are actually greek words typed with english letters thats why they are weird :P

I must just fail at Sage. I have yet to be able to beat the end of the very first intro sage quest I just never feel like I do enough healing to keep kitty pally and myself alive.

No matter how many guides I watch, I will never understand the damage skills and how they work as a Sage. I don't heal much with them, and I have to use prognosis and diagnosis - the damage skills won't heal much the tank 😢

lol the -chole pronunciation. C's in Greek are pronounced like a K, and the H is basically silent in the English latin spelling, so so just say it as you would with the word coal.

this class is too complicated for an idiot guide, I'm still confused by the longer cooldowns. I need a neat arrangement for my skill bar that will help me remember the associations the skills have with one another...

Sage ability names are really easy (I am greek)

Druchole, Kerachole, Ixochole, and Taruchole are pronounced like the Chole in Cholesterol. If for some reason you want to be pedantic, pretentious, or have an obsession with pronunciation, this is something you now know.

Transliteration of Latin, Druchole is Dru (thick, usually hair?) chole (bile), Kerachole is Kera (Ball) bile, Taru (small grass/vegetation) bile, and Ixo (to quit/exit) bile. What's odd though is that Chole is a latin prefix, not a suffix, and Ixo is present tense first person. I'm not sure how that's supposed to work either.

@@herebejamz I strongly believe that everything here is Greek and not Latin. And I mean EVERYTHING. Chole -> Χολή, Dru -> Δρυς, Tauro -> Ταύρος, Ixo -> Έξω (not sure about this one). All the others Greek as well. Dosis -> Δόση (dose), Kardia -> Καρδιά (heart), Egeiro -> Εγείρω (raise) etc etc... Every action is in Greek

On the other hand, I know that would make Taurochole bull bile, and I tell you what if that doesn't sound like semen I don't know what does. Druchole still looks like it would be something akin to thick bile, Kerachole would be something around horn bile? Ixochole is just elixer bile. Now that I think about it I was generally wrong, but its about right in terms of pronunciation. I should have figured, the sage class literally comes from a place heavily inspired by ancient Greece, but filled with french elves.

It gets worse... I think you pronounce both os in Noolith. "New Oh Lith".

FF14 spell and abilities names is one thing i will never master. having said that, i main Samurai in PvE and Ninja in PvP :) catch me with worse names if you can.

This kind of helped, but I need to practice it. It's certainly a weird healer, still mad male Viera are playable cause it goes against their original lore. Not to mention we didn't need another fuck boy race 🤣, they also seem to look like shorter female Viera at least with how most people dress them

everyone has their opinion, however i disagree, i have all my healers at 90, i main a healer, and i would say that sage is in a very good place.
