I was actually drawing as I watched this, and looking at my completed drawing, all I can think is, "Wow. When do any of us, as an artist, know what we're doing? I just experimented with the airbrush and a purple shade for highlights." Seriously, thank you for this. None of us know what the hell we're doing when we draw, but that often means finding a different style without realizing it. I don't know how to say it. But yeah. Thank you again for this!

I liked what you said at the end because it really made sense. One can always improve in their craft as long as they continue to practice with it. I look at my drawing from over a year ago and I can see the difference as I improved. It just takes time and I think you really did touch on that nicely be saying no one becomes great overnight, because anything worth doing takes a lot of time and effort to become great.

If there is one person in life that I look up to the most, it is definitely you, Zillion. The little heart to heart at the end was absolutely amazing, and I think the whole process of everything you go through in your art is just so intriguing. I have been watching many, many art youtubers for awhile, and I think that all the different methods and practices are so unique, and this one is no exception. This was wonderful and I will probably remember this video for a good portion of the rest of my life.

I've been making art for almost 5 years now, and I agree with literally everything you just said. I guess being an artist just comes with a free inferiority complex in the package! But that doesn't matter, even if it's difficult and it hurts, you keep going, you keep doing it day after day, because looking at your creation ~when you don't hate it~ is the best feeling ever! And because that's what your favorite artists do. And thanks to this video, now I have the actual confirmation for one of them. Love your art, love your videos, love your humor. Let's keep going man.

20:23 Every great artist, musician, writer or mind began from zero or nothing. I think once i stopped myself from being a child and accepting my mistakes and repeat what i did, and if failed, i would do it again until I felt it was better, I just grew disappointed and unmotivated, but once a wise mentor said to his apprentice I was not satisfied with my results because they're ahead of me, yet perfection is not a state of material nor quality but a pure and solid strength of motivation and will for learning and healthy improvement.

But to correct and improve... Especially that "No one gets good overnight" really slapped me cuz I watched your drawing lessons and immediately made my own art and think that its good enough to be popular, then posted lt on twitter but only few people liked it and feel that im not good at art and nearly quit but seeing this really inspired me to continue... This video has helped me in many ways than one. I was in a recent phase of feeling that I had lost all my skill that I had worked hard to get for the past few months, but I'd say that this video has resolved that issue entirely. I knew that top artists like you are not perfect in your ways, and have issues like everyone else; but this video just hammered that fact into my mind. I'm starting to feel so much better when it comes to my slowing maturing art skills. I even downloaded a copy of this video just to watch when I feel, should I say, unworthy/worthless when it comes to art. Overall, this is a well made video and enough of my rambling.

I just want to type a comment to thank you for encouraging me because: I always knew when I was young that drawing was a hobby of mine, and I drew a lot. but when I was young I had a lot less confidence than now, I got all my confidence from my mother. and at one point I got so tired of looking at what I drew that I stopped, I just didn't believe in myself anymore and thought you must have been born with the instinct to draw well (which is nonsense I realize me now). and now i am sitting today, just opened youtube and got a video on my recommend. and after hearing what you said at the end, I got up and went upstairs and got my old drawing book. I wanted to recall my memories from the past. because okay i was bad and it didn't work, but with my memories i realized again how much fun it was to draw. i got hope and watched your tutorials on your channel and i tried some and compare my drawing with yours and with my drawings from the past. and I saw that it looked better than before. not great but better. So now I have decided to start drawing again, and I am therefore very happy because I realize again how much fun it was to draw. so i want to thank you for motivating me, and not giving up. (even though i know there's a pretty smal chance you're reading this)

Haha, i loved the ending of this video. It was very energetic ^-^ Anyway bleh bleh its hard talk Ree Ree, i dunno what else type except to say i guess, but hes right when it comes to the fact that things dont happen over night. My personal issue when it comes to art is I procrastinate, and get lazy, and all that fun boring jazz. And as far as I know that is what mainly keeps me from moving forward I guess. But there are times where i will not want to do anything else but to art and man when I get thoughs burst, (as the saying goes) "SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK!" But yeah in general art burst for me will lead me down two routs: 1 route leading me to makeing multiple pictures im somewhat happy with (taking my time, and remembering to take care of myself) 2nd route being where i will work on somthing until I tire myself and burn out and then I wont do any art at all for up to half a year somtimes longer... But yeah thoes time are never fun But yeah my question is for anyone who decides to read this comment that feels like a vent at this point i got no clue is, How do you folks pace yourselves? How do you keep yourself motivated and not get board of somthin? How do you not burn yourself out? (Fun fact bout this comment, i think iv spent 40 mins on it...) Words are hard and im done typing 😵

Well said. I mean, ngl, I do look up to your artwork as I really think it's well done and actually inspiring. Though that last part you said at the end... *That hit deep.* You're right, the more one draws, the more that one shows improvement over time from experience, whether they see it or not. In all truth, I've always believed that there are those who are way more skilled than me, they know what they're doing, and make pieces that quite honestly I behold so much that unbeknownst I'm depreciating the work I put forward, despite the several years I've held both pencil and stylus. It's a wrecking ball of emotions when I, myself, would go through this cycle, knowing everytime this happens, I wave hello to depression. ...but what you said is true: *It's a journey of trial and error.* It's not something that can be accomplished or found overnight, *it takes time, patience, and persistence.* Seriously, *Thank you for posting this.* This was truly needed and you have no idea how helpful and great of an advice this is.

I've know your channel for almost a year now and I admire you and your dynamics and dedication so much! ✨ 💕 The last minutes of this video actually made me tear up... yeah, we all have the same feeling deep down... And sometimes you feel so shitty and bad compared than everybody else that you just think about giving up. Really, I've been going through a lot of ups and downs throughout my life and my art... I can say that I gave up on my hobby of drawing a couple of times before... But then I get to remember that drawing is one of the things I most love to do and it gives me so much joy and somehow helps me to vent...and there is hope I can get better. Being a negative person..It is tough. Anyways, hehe this comment got way too long, I actually don't comment much on videos... I just got so touched by your words that I had to say it. I have been working a lot on perspective drawings lately but, this is amazing how you did this but, I think some suggestions just might help since I have been studying this portion. start with the background first, it will save you a lot of time on making an environment, this will allow you to simply just place the character where you want in the scene. light source first so you can line the shadows with lighting, of course, you can put shadows where want after you have done normal shadow placement to enhance features, it's always nice to have enhancements. with an already placed scene, it also gives a light source for perspective, so no guessing, and this also takes the stress of lining the new environment with the character, planning ahead is very helpful in these cases. You are on track with keep drawing because it is learning processes, I would say studying help me understand the situations but, my line art is bad due to less drawing, and my shaky hands and rushing kills it sometimes. this very helpful and I hope you will try out the suggestion of being a fellow artist.

Wow. That was really both enlightening, and kind of inspiring. In the back of my head I always kinda had the feeling that some of these processes of people going was “makeshift” in a way but I never really thought about it until now. God damn why does the furry community make me feel more inspired the president quotes?

I definitely relate to making a million layers and trying to group and mask and blend till it looks halfway decent. Especially with my digital paintings. It's so fucking confusing and I have to sometimes turn layers on and off till I know which one I'm on, but in the end, putting that much more effort into it makes it that much more worth it. Keep drawing everyone

I'm intending on going to an art school to improve my skills and to (hopefully) become an artist/art teacher. Lots of people have told me how much better my art is compared to theirs, but I'm not where I want to be and I still have a long ways to go before I can call myself decent. An artists worst critique is themself.

Woaah I really admire you, I'm a begginer artist that is planning on starting doing digital art as I was plain bad at traditional but I enjoy drawing its just that I'm really bad at it and my parents often scold me for buying art stuff when I'm really bad at it. I hope to be able to improve and your content is really enjoyable

Well I'm glad you want to improve, I know that I spent a good two years with just a pencil and paper. Expensive equipment won't help your artistic sill in the slightest, so I would defiantly recommend just sticking to the basics for a bit

I'm inspired by the grade school artwork I see in a particular hospital hallway. Some of those kids have a magnificent vision, and they draw like grade schoolers, but they power through it and do it anyway. Only the adults say "I can't draw!"
