If you can source an old polytunnel frame and set the frame into two wooden skids, cover the top, and half the frame with heavy duty plastic, and chicken wire the rest, you can have an outdoor coop which is predator safe and can be moved daily to clean pasture. It would be easier to draw a diagram, but mostly, it needs to be a design which suits you needs, and available materials.

1st time watching your vlogs/video. I like how you're keeping it real, and have subscribed as well. I am mostly bed ridden and I love family farms. I hope the kiddos have a great Easter egg hunt and get lots of Easter eggs 🐣🐇🐤🐰🐥

It’s all a learning curve; I once froze 100ml of Bravoxin 10, the fridge had decided to become a freezer! Definitely set up a race and crush system, much easier for you and less stressful for them. Keep some spare needles for the gun, and have more people than you think need, if possible. One person for recording, as it’s easy to forget exactly which ones have been jagged and when.

You could try asking farmers if they have any broken panels that you could temporarily mend

As a parent of both sons and daughters there’s something quite revelatory about how girls ‘suddenly’ become responsible, and contributory, human beings whilst sons often continue, for some time, to pursue their, mostly, self-centred pursuits. I guess it’s always been such, but it’s nice to watch your family develop so.positively through its farming activities. 👌

Sheep dog would help. Race and crush would help. The problem is if it's really economically sound for anything less than a couple hundred sheep. Sometimes you just gotta make do with what you've got.

There are enough sheep to justify a collie, especially if the intention is to increase the flock short term. I bought my first collie when my flock of Wiltipers reached 20 breeding ewes, she was also useful when I started shearing during school holidays.

Fortunately I had vet out to see the dairy Billys next day so he checked and said it had damage from wire or thorn but with some opticlox and a couple of weeks on she has now lambed twins fine and eye cleared up. 👍

Sometimes when you see people driven by procedures in their work that appear unnecessary, you don't know what's gone wrong in the past. If a lot has gone wrong, you have a chance to learn and avoid the same mistakes again in the future. Not having the sheep tagged looked humane to me but it might make life easier here or there. Here's one of the occasions. There's a lot you'll get right in the next video on vaccination. Good to see the gilrs pitch in and get a job done too. Make sure you take every lesson you can from a cock up, as Churchill said, or was it Mark Twain....

Tim - the race should be curved because the animals think it eventually leads back to freedom. 1) See - **Sandie Brock** - they have about 200 sheep - lamb twice a year - see KZread channel 2) There is someone else **Temple Grandin** who now lectures at Universities that used to design races in slauter houses -- again they need to be curved for cows - avoid shadows - lots of people standing around don't help. She has a particularly unusual brain - thinks visually and can understand the animals perspective. Her type of thinking is well into the geek end of the spectrum. Good luck with the curved races.
