I love all of her books I've read. She has the ability to put you in the era she writes about. Specially the Roosevelts book, and Team of Rivals are amazing. Spielberg translated very well that feeling of sittinng there on Lincoln's cabinet meetings. But the book is 10 times better . I still haven't read The Bully Pulpit but I'm sure it's amazing. She also explores the key periods : Civil War, early 20th century, WWII, the 60s, so the books are as interesting as they get.

What a wonderful and interesting video by an enthralling speaker. Although I am not from America I have read her biography of Johnson many times over and still find fresh insights. Her perspective of the man and his achievements 40 years on, are just as insightful. Her new book sounds equally as fascinating. Thank you for putting this interview on your KZread site. I may live in London but it was just like being there!

Our country could use another Teddy Roosevelt, he was a true patriot and cared about the people and wanted what was best for the people and the country and its future, which is a far cry from the politicians of today (democrat & republican).

Doris Kearns Goodwin lost me when she was outed for plagiarizing a book on the Kennedys some 20 years ago. Sorry.

Carlos T. Smith yes and no. her Lincoln book took a lot from Gore Vidal. but she was born under a lucky star. nothing sticks. I look for the authentic stuff in her work. but she is a very lucky person.
