What a fantastic resource! I'm trying to do screenprinting at home with my kids, and wanted to avoid all the nasty solvents and plastics that go into traditional screenprinting. You have NO idea how much this means to me. Absolutely wonderful! Thank you!

I have been binge watching your ch. for the last few days and wanted to say thank you for all you do. I did watch a few videos a few years ago when graphene started and nothing made sence back then but now everything seems to click. I wasnt ready to hear the greatness. Anyhow ive been a sponge. This looks like a great way to add graphite to the ink and print on inner layer of a coat or clothing for thermal electric heat. Thanks again

Super excited to try this for my art ! One question though, I'm ordering the required ingredients online and everything seems affordable other than the Urea. Are there any other alternatives that I can use to make it cheaper but still functional?

Hey Robert! This is very cool. I've ordered in some of the materials to try this out. Do you know if the ink will hold fugitive natural dyes very well, or would the dye/pigment need to be colorfast to begin with?

Hi Robert, For my uni project I am working with natural, eco-friendly pigments, binders etc to print onto fabric. I was just wondering if I would be able to use the recipe in this video as part of my project? I would make sure to reference you. If you would rather I didn't then that's no problem! Thanks, Emily

OHHH thank you so much, I've just watched how to make the ink base using alginate, I knew seaweed was involved and have been wanting to find screen printing ink with all natural ingredients for years, it's taken until now to look for ways to make it myself as I am changing all my clothing brand to organic and natural. So excited to get experimenting!! Just one thing (for now, I'm sure I'll have more questions) can this be used to screen print onto darker backgrounds, as I currently use a different commercial water based binder for that, but it definitely isn't chemical free so it would be good to know if another ingredient is needed to make it more opaque? Thanks again I'm off to watch more of your video's and buy your book!!

How is your experimentation coming along? I've been looking for a biodegradable ink for a while now and came across this video too. I haven't purchased the materials but just wondering if anyone else has attempt to make it or ran into any issues.

A handy thing I picked up during my arguably not so misspent youth, is that to roughly measure 1g of dry powder, get the cap from the end of a Smarties tube, and fill it to level. Approx 1g :-) We can also make neat little envelopes just the right size for storing 1 or 2 grams of dry powder from sheets from those cubes of square notepaper too, but that's another matter ;-)

you can get it from eBay - it's just latex rubber - also most art and craft stores have it. I have no idea if anyone else is making it this way sorry - I am a chemist not a printer so i don't know much about the print industry or the field of art prints - again I am sorry for that

whats the name of your book for foraging for natural dyes? I just tried the formula, working on trying to get it a lot thicker, its quite watery even after adding a fair amount of the alginate... does it thicken over time while sitting? or perhaps I just add more alginate....

@@ThinkingandTinkering Could you use Ipomoea alba juice instead of Urea to cross-link? And how might you add it, taking into account the water? It could be possible to reduce the juice. And maybe some purification would be necessary, so it doesn't effect the overall colour. Would the Sulfur in the juice produce a white, or less transparent latex than if using Urea to cross-link? Thanks!
