The biggest twist was this was a story from the POV of the “antagonist” with a case of memory loss whom everyone thought at first to be a hero. Told in flashbacks and reverse. Epic, absolute genius writing. But of course I’m a Yaegerist so I view his as my hero. Always. The boy who sought freedom

I think the greatest plot twist was the Ymir's past. In both, eldian and marley histroy, ymir is portrayed as a powerful person that obtained the power of titans where as in reality she was just a slave who accidentally came in contact with the source of titans and was forced to suffer for eternity

The moment Eren first became titan and got out of the titan body through the back of the neck (their weak spot), I thought maybe all titans are actually humans who were somehow converted to titans, but I was just assuming that, then later we got to know that they're actually humans

And the most underrated best plot twist is that this discovery, horror, war, peace and justice of titan repeats itself in the future. It's evident when they showed the scene where the boy and dog entered that giant tree in the final episode.

It's not that the plot twists are so mind blowing and out of reach, but everything is so well connected that a side character you barely see and think nothing of could potentially advance the plot. It's good, VERY good

In hindsight its predictable, but at the moment the "how?" or "why?" was so incredibly out of the viewers reach.

"the story changed a little when we learned Grisha's past" the whole setting changed! I was reading the manga as it was coming out and nothing has made me feel like the plot was changing more than seeing the airship panel.
