My husband, Tim Richardson was Laine's Talented Music teacher at French Settlement High School. The first time he met Laine he came home gushing about a special young man with unbelievable talent. He was also struck by how polite he was. Tim asked him to sing and came home so excited about his special voice. Tim and I love this wonderful young man and his sweet family. We know he will go far and be a huge star and role model to those who come behind him.

My dad knew Tim, we were talking about Laine’s music when he brought up Tim. I believe it was his best friend, Clint, who may have been related to Tim. Me and my brother refer to him by Uncle Clint, was suprised to see this

I have been doing singing videos for two years. I did my first singing video a few days after my 21st birthday a couple years ago I did my first singing video, The first song I sang was Scooby Doo where are you theme song. After that, I did some singing videos on my old KZread channel. When I heard about American idol came back on the air and you were on American idol, I became interested in making another KZread account. So I made KZread channel. Laine, you inspired me to do singing videos. You and I are both from Livingston Parish and both shy. I'm going to do the same thing that you did. I am going to audition for American idol. The song I am going to sing at the audition is "rock and roll all night and party everyday" by KISS

Having taught piano lessons, I still don't understand why people and music studios require an age... That child loses so much opportunity and time when you make them wait till they are 7 or 8 years old. Some of my absolute best piano students are the ones that started when they were 4 & 5 yrs old!! There is soooo much more benefit to a child learning how to play an acoustical instrument as a young child - it spans far beyond just the ideal of them learning an instrument. The benefits it provides to building gross motor skills, reading skills, fine motor skills, understanding divisions of notes and applying that to math later on, the fact that it engages both sides of the brain (because you're utilizing the auditory, the kinesthetic (precise movement with your hands), the visual, and the vocal sensories.). Folks, Laine did well having to wait till he was a little older to start, but don't do this to your little one... if they're already showing signs of interest and capability, find a teacher who will let them take lessons at an early age. Keep the timing appropriate - you want to be sure they are learning to love it first. The technical skills will come as they pour the hearts into it.

My brother Frank tried teach me to play guitar. He said you have to play until bleed or get some calluses on you finger nails! I've been singing all my life. I should've done what you did take guitar lessons to learn to play the right way with someone who knows how to teach you to play guitar.

You and lacy booth should do a duet to lady antebellum need you now... i would pay money to come see that !!

Laine - I absolutely LOVE these videos... it takes me back to the way I grew up myself. Have you every considered singing "Louisiana Moon" by Mel McDaniel? It's so very similar to your amazing little rendition of Oo-De-Lally and I think you could really do something fun with it!!
