    Sad it is one of the best when it actually falls short. The officer asked inappropriate questions. And they got answered. Why are so many people praising the officer? Because he is a veteran? Whether or not the person holding the sign is a veteran has nothing to do with the matter, and neither does whether or not he is with any organization. Yet...for some reason so many think it's OK this was asked, and so many think it's OK it was answered. WHY?

  • @Cfomodz

    @Cfomodz

    Жыл бұрын

    @@rcpilot179 yeah, I don’t get it. I’m not here for the nascar effect, but I also don’t see any exemplary behavior here. He could have gone inside and talked to the security guard, who would have said what, exactly, “he’s just standing there holding his sign, trying to talk to people as they come and go, and I asked him to leave, to just go up to the road, but he was like, ‘I’m going to stand right here’ so that’s when I called you guys” and a good cop is going to stop writing momentarily, with pen still firmly grasped and glance up from his notes for the narrator to continue onto the part where a criminal action is accused… I don’t know what a good cop Says.. I would feel a bit perturbed at the improper use of *law* enforcement when they clearly just want to use me to force this guy to comply with their will, not the law, so I imagine I’d say something like, “and did anything else happen?” At nicest, or “none of that violates any laws, actually, and you can’t ask him to leave public property [with any authority] unless he’s committed a crime, so if there’s nothing else I think we’re all set”

    That had to be the nicest police interaction I have seen in a long time. Officer was extremely professional, straight up treated Jeff like a valued human, provided additional information about how that city is actually helping the homeless community ( provide housing and help astonishingly this is the way to do it) and didn’t even attempt to violate One civil right. I’m flabbergasted. Small bit of faith in humanity restored.

    Yeah.. I’m not sure why he didn’t talk with the security guard to explain that people can stand there…. “Even” while holding a sign 😮 Maybe he did after via a phone call or it wasn’t shown, but he (the security guard) was obviously the biggest “problem” that needed addressed in this situation as far as “law enforcement” is concerned. Once he cleared that up him going out to have a 100% legitimately consensual encounter that he wouldn’t have gotten upset if Jeff didn’t want to have with him would have been.. fine, nice even? But he seemed to be investigating him a bit… but for what crime?….
