If they cross our territories we will be violent. Could you imagine a ship as terrifying as the one shown engaging in violence before we could even react?? We dont know how similar aliens will be to us. What if the aliens thought violence was normal? These things you need to question. Of course it does not exactly justify the action but in a world of mystery its the only thing we can do since we were born neither peaceful or technologically advanced.

That film is brilliant and just calling it stupid without any further justification is a sign that you have no real reason for your comment This movie however is stupid with a capital S. I saw the sequel explanation in "Beings from Another World Fear a Single Person on Earth and Flood Everything to Eliminate Him" only knew when they called a character google haha.

It's horrible. I tried to watch it in its original language (Russian) and it was torture. Bad actors, plot that is full of holes, Russian "gopniks" are totally out of place and time, even the CGI is cartoon-ish and not believable. Bondarchuk hasn't made a single good movie, unlike his father who was also a film director during the Soviet times. Bondarchuk even screwed up his "Inhabited Island" based on Strugatsky's scifi novel, despite huge budget. Modern Russian cinema, apart from a handful of good movies - is completely talentless and un-watchable.
