Sarah these are so wonderful - I can't begin to tell you how helpful these videos are. Thank you for your hard work, passion and commitment to the craft! If I could, would you ever do Ophelia's "O what a noble mind" soliloquy? Would love your thoughts on it as an audition piece. All the best!

O, I'm going to enjoy your channel. Hermia is the female counterpart of the Greek god, Hermes. Thought I'd share that with you. Played Demetrius a few years back. The play was made into a glorious opera by Benjamin Britten in the 1960s. It's actually better than the play, check it out. A midsummer night's dream, Benjamin Britten. Noel 🌹

You know, I never thought about the fact that Hermia is the female counterpart of Hermes! I find that quite interesting because I’ve always found Hermia to be a bit of a stick-in-the-mud, which is not typical of Hermes! I’ve heard of the opera but haven’t listened to it. I do like Benjamin Britten though so I will have give it a listen!

@@ShakespearewithSarah what a treat you are in for with the Britten "dream". The best version is the one with Britten conducting himself. 1960s. He also wrote a piece entitled "serenade for tenor, strings and horn" I think it's opus 133, or 131, it contains sublime renditions of poems by Blake (O, Rose, thou art sick) and sonnets by Shakespeare and Keats. I'm a London based actor and playwright. You may enjoy my work on my channel. Just recently started it. Really enjoying it. Nice to have intellectual/arty material on you tube. Yes. Hermes is tremendous. He was originally Thoth in ancient Egypt, and became transposed to Hermes by the ancient Greeks. Originally Hermes trismegistus (Thrice greatest) Thoth is the god of writing, and Thomas Mann is forever mentioning him in his novels. The divine nous (mind) cheers, Noel 🌹
