Flicky is so brave that I'm guessing he's the main character of Filcky's arcade game, which protects the birds from the cat and lizard villains. amy and flicky's collaboration always makes me smile

I LIKED feisty Amy who got firey when you got on her bad side or messed with those she cares about and I had a dumb smile on my face when I saw that panel with Ray. Loved it all!

Capturing Amy's cheerfulness, empathy, even fiery nature! I love this story much! I love seeing her growing as an early hero! How the cards she read were representing her, not just her friends. Her interactions with Bark were so cute! 🥰 And Sonic toasting the birthday girl was just wonderful! And Metal Sonic was awesome too! He's menacing presence. All I could think of when he crushed that cake, all I could think of was that line from Roger said in the sixth Twitter Takeover. "Strawberry shortcake sucks!"

I read the comic myself, and I liked it. I wish we got more Metal Sonic as it’s his anniversary too. But it felt like he was mostly shafted by my girl. My fave part of the comic is Amy being teamed up with Ray, Bark, and a Flicky. It’s short, but it’s a fun team up I’ll like to see more of. I especially like to believe the Flicky is the same one from the Genesis game “Flicky”. Which would explain the Flickr’s sense of Justice when it came to wanting to help Amy.

Not gonna lie, I would love it if someone made a fan game based on these new classic Sonic comics. Maybe for the tails comic, it could be a 2-D version of sonic 3-D blast, but with tails as the playable character going up against the witch karters? Maybe this comic could feature some stealth elements where you have to avoid metal sonic and with each capsule you open you get a new teammate to help you on your adventure? You get the idea

i really loved introduction section with the critters

tbh this review format is just better. i feel like getting rid of the summary, or making it only a couple sentences, leads to a more well-rounded video AND gets more people to actually read the comic. plus, i'd imagine it makes it way easier and faster to edit (especially judging by the turnaround time on this video in particular) and you won't have to dread covering early archie as much, lol. i know a lot of people would use these videos as a replacement for actually reading the comic since you pretty thoroughly summarize everything that happens. i, as someone that's already read everything, would often have to skip to later in the video to hear your thoughts, especially with a lot of the metal virus videos. so with those points in mind this is just a better format in every way, for viewers who have AND haven't read the material, and for you as the creator.

Prefer the more loose reviews for one shots, they deserve people to actually go grab 'em

yeah this was a really well crafted video, liked this format a lot!!

this is the one channel where the "thanking patrons" segment is just as enjoyable as the rest of the video, solely because of the shenanigans the patrons get up to

I love how much development this character has been given in recent years. From being "the token girl" who overly fangirls over the hero, to a heroic powerhouse in her own right. Her growth as a person has been great to see over the years 😊

I just got this comic and the 900th adventure issue for my son. Hahah it’s cool they gave her an issue

I have to keep reminding myself that it thanks to sonic x I came back to the sonic franchise. Modern Sonic is my favorite, but it's nice to go back and read a new, simple, classic story every now and then

I like Amy being the voice of good to characters like Gamma, Shadow, and Bark so even if I personally don't see here on same level of some other characters I really appreciate her character and stories. That being said I get Bark is not bad, but falls in with wrong crowd, but can we please get expansion on that? Archie gave us way more to infer with them given all the character interaction they got, but here it's Bark teams up with Amy again. Maybe we just need a Team hooligan comic already...

Good lord I still remember when Amy was the Yandere of the group. For some reason they made her insufferably insane after Adventure 2. She was tolerable in Unleashed but it's been nothing but hiccups for most of the 2000s and early 2010s. Then somewhere during or after Lost World (maybe earlier) she became another character! Bland as hell but anything is better than the *MARRY ME* arc she had

I'm a Miles "Tails" Prower fan. He's my favorite, I respect him, and Grew up inspired by him. Without a doubt I can say this Amy comic is way more entertaining than Tails comic. Both hit similar beats but Amy has better sequences.

Amy Rose and Metal sonic can now have a valid Mid Life Crisis.

I liked this style. I intend to get the comics, but your speed reading videos are what holds me over until they're released in volumes. By the way, are these Tails and Amy ones going to be included in those?

Can't comment on the one shot itself, but from what I've seen here it's a treat (Wow those expressions!) As for this style, I'd say it's not only fine, but good and appropriate when covering something this current. If you feel like it, story summary can come later. But speaking of right now, KZread knows what's up I queued this up along with other stuff, and the background of it while playing is pink

Something I've suddenly realized is that SEGA seems to be rotating focus between these two for anniversaries. 2003 brought us Sonic Heroes in which Amy is a big focus as leader of her own team and Metal Sonic is a big focus as the main antagonist. We didn't get anything special as far as I know for 2013, but the year before in 2012 we got Sonic 4 Episode 2 and the accompanying Episode Metal DLC while not really getting anything Amy related. Now in 2023 we have Amy playing a prominent role and making her first proper playable appearance since 06 in Frontiers Update 3, she gets her own visual novel to celebrate her birthday in the form of The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, She's one of the main four playable characters in Superstars, she gets added back into the original adventures via the Origins Plus DLC, and now she even gets her own little anniversary comic. Conversely, Metal isn't getting as much focus this year, only getting slightly acknowledged comparatively. He's only got a tiny cameo in Murder, doesn't get anything special added in Origins Plus, isn't in Frontiers at all as far as I'm aware, and I'm also not aware of any Metal Sonic inclusion in Superstars. That leaves the Amy anniversary comic, which to my knowledge has the biggest amount of Metal Sonic exposure out of everything anniversary related this year. He did also appear a bit in the mainline IDW comics this year but his inclusion in those wasn't anything super special. Bringing it all together: First anniversary - Both Second anniversary - Metal Third anniversary - Amy If they keep up this pattern, we can probably expect Metal and Amy to both get focus in 2033, then Metal takes the spotlight in 2043, and finally we get another big Amy anniversary in 2053. I don't actually expect it to become a consistent pattern though.

Fr, kinda wished the comic had an ending similar to Mania Adventures ep 6...and it would've made sense too! Amy kept seeing the good side of all the characters you wouldn't expect throughout the comic sooo... kinda thought the same would happen with Metal Sonic. But whatevs 🤷‍♀️

NOOOO DANG IT, I thought the heroes would lose, what a spoiler... I'm kidding lol, I was surprised I didn't know it was the 30th anniversary of CD, Metal, and Amy, I love that game, and Metal is one of my favorite characters next to Mighty and Sonic, yet I didn't know about this or realize it, I feel like a fool. Well anyways, happy to celebrate none the less, congratulations CD, Metal Sonic, Amy, and those weird UFO aliens that we've never seen before outside of their ships, as well as the time stones even though they'll never get used again, and to Little Planet, and the DA Garden, anything and everything CD related happy 30th birthday. Just realizing now, a bit ironic since I made youtube videos playing as Metal Sonic... and yet I didn't know about all this, was perfect timing.

​​@@P0tatoz9In the comics, isn't Classic Amy entirely different from Modern Amy who fought Zero? IDW was before Frontiers unified Classic and Modern. Meaning, this Classic Amy was not the Modern stalker Amy Rose. Its a Classic story where Amy is 8, Sonic is 16. So the story worked out

I surprised thy are compeling to integrate the Tarot cards to her in all media, not only here the last trailer of frontiers show explicitly one of her cards(up to now only have been mention of her reading in games), and there is very old gag with them Amy reading are ever on point but she ever asumme wrong in the details.

Love this, but I think Amy is physically stronger than Metal. Like in Twitter Takeover Knuckles says she can split the world in half.

This is why we like writers like Ian Flynn and Evan Stanley. Cause they truly get these characters and their personalities. They may not write these comics as good as they did in the days of Archie (mostly because Sega has been basically telling them how to write specific characters like Shadow) but this one shot and the IDW comics as a whole are great I just feel they’re doing the best they can here.

I really don't think you have the best tone at the end here. It's not 'weird' to want people to have the story shown and read out in deep-dive style? I think that's pretty standoffish of you. It's clear you know people aren't always the biggest fan of these briefer overviews on comics that don't get into their stories directly, but you don't seem to understand why people are asking for more. It's because of your IDW comic story coverage, and how you delve very deeply into each issue of the progressing storylines there. People LOVE that, and so when you cover other comics, people come in expecting more deep-dives, and walk away with just you summarizing. Which...to those used to the deep-dives, feels like the videos are ending before they even are starting. Not trying to be rude here, nor say you 'have' to do this or that; it's your channel and you can do content how you want, or change how you do some content from how you've done it before, or whatever. But the negative tone you had about this stuff indicates to me that you aren't doing a great job communicating WHY you don't want to do deep-delves, and to me at least, it feels like you're just putting down or diminishing the people who want that instead of trying to speak to them on their level or understand why they enjoy that so much. Yes; people can be rude when it comes to content creators and be very demanding of them when it comes to what they want of them. And some people treat content creators like tools that need to dispense what they like, rather than actual people. I'm a content creator. I've been there, and yes, it kinda sucks. But that doesn't give you the justification or right to be rude back to those people. That just is fighting fire with fire, and it also unfairly slights all the people who want that thing but are polite about it, too.
