I’m a bit disappointed that shinji did not end up with either Rei or Asuka. But I am ok with Mari since the movie series is much different than Neon Genesis Evangelion. Glad he finally found the happiness he is been seeking and made peace within himself

Plus hey he finally got the happy ending he deserved, plus Rei, was never real there all clones, and well Asuka, is just a toxic mix i mean you can say that’s cute, though honestly it’s messed up she still treated him so badly, but Mari, is a great fit.
