I just finished rewatching the series. He is definitely a well-written character. In the anime he looks more like a hero, but later in manga he becomes more a character with his own interests. And the further, the more controversial his behaviour becomes.

@@aasray I don't think he can be called hero. Maybe anti-hero, but for hero he has done and continues to do so many bad things (even if his goals are good, it still bad things). For example, he manipulates many characters forcing them to do what he needs them to do. Oh, and let's not forget for Dazai there is no difference between good and bad, he's just doing what Oda asked him to do before he died. Of course, you may have a different opinion, I'm not trying to change your mind. I'm just answering your question🤗❤

@@gekkajuu yeah I understand that. My reasoning was more on the lines that because of the respective natures of the organizations he was in, it was tough to get close to people in PM. But he seems to be getting very close to atsushi. So I think he does care for the Ada in his own way, in a way he never did with the pm. Similarly I’m using color from the manga. In the PM he wore black, in the ADA he wore beige and now he’s wearing full white. Of course it’s because he’s in a prison but the author could have chosen any other clothing or environment but chose that. So just my pet theory that he might not be perfect but is becoming better thanks to following oda

The level of depth Bungou Stray dogs carries is amazing. It's hard finding these sort of animes

This falls into the *'seinen'* category I learnt when I first watched this back in 2019 and felt the same as you. Darker, more psychological stories with sensitive themes fall into this anime category, so maybe checking out other series from there may help you strike gold some more. 😊

He's one of the most well written character ever. We can see that in the anime he seems more like a hero and a support for atsushi but later we can clearly see that he acts for his own interests and achievements and we never predict his actions . Such a complicated person and I love that

while I understand where this is coming from, I have to disagree, some people are naturally not much of feelers, Dazai was unfeeling before he even met Mori and I don't even think that's bad. that being said, Dazai is still capable of feeling (with Oda and Atsushi especially)

This is *DAMN* good. AMVs have been around since the early 2000 (over 20 years) and I've noticed not many truly understand the assignment in the last few years or so, which is: 1. A good sense of song choice. 2. Truly listening to the song composition, lyrics and rhythm to match the cuts with. 3. Truly understanding the characters and which scenes to use to overall give the AMV the feel of said character too. 1 million in under a year is well deserved and here's to many million more, I could watch this over and over easily! The lead up to the chorus and the chorus itself is so bloody fun to watch!

Thank you so much, I thougt about Dazai these two days (I don't really like him) and understood something about him (is not as interesting though). You have a perfect feeling of rythm! Music suits him so damn good and especially combination between frames *.* (I almost cried, it's so perfect 0:30 and 0:48 and 1:00 and 1:17 and 1:37 and 2:07 and 2:25 and I can do this pretty long). AND I'm in love with your idea (I hope I understood it right), that Dazai's always a villain, it doesn't matter wich coat he has on: his eyes are always "red" inside and there are too many lines that repeated when he's in mafia and in ADA. It's awersome, thank you so much for everything you're doing 💛

@@gekkajuu It's a little bit difficult for me to understand his motivation (if he's a "good" person, so why doesn't he EVER show it clearly? It's kinda impossible), but yeah, I think he is a bigger villain than Mori (and Fitzgerald of course, 100%) and this move to ADA didn't change anything at all. About Dostoevsky -- really interesting, after this scene with this girl from season 3 I'm not so sure about it 🤔 (probably I want to believe cuz I ship skk :D)

@@user-br8sz9ku6o so as far as motivation, there is one driving force that sort of explains his recent actions. It was Oda’s last words to him, “Be on the side that saves people. If both sides are the same, then choose to become a good person. Save the weak, protect the orphaned,” Dazai joined the ADA, whose main goal is to solve cases and protect the city, and sometimes the world by extension. On top of doing his job, he is trying his best to fulfill Oda’s last dying wish. However, Dazai is a person who has no morals and a “for the better good” mentality. An example of this is when he sabotaged Ango’s car with the intent to save the city as well as Kyoka. So no he is not a good person, he’s just trying to fulfil his friend’s wish by using his abilities in a way that helps more people than it hurts
