​@@jeran2010rioyamatoactually it's not russia's fault... mostly. Amur leopards largely live in far west china, and they barely really live in russia. China don't really care for them and their population there is in the dozen. You should instead look up how many bills allocated to caring for pandas in china, it's crazy that they can't spare the same passion for amur leopards, even more considering that pandas are very clumsy animals that'd went extinct had humans don't interrupt in their saving, tbh if they can only give considerate care to one type of species I'd be more sympathetic to intelligent animals like the amur.

Why do people think that leopards are doomed because they live in Russia? You know, we try to save them. We have national park for them (Leopard Land or smth like this. Not sure how it would be in english), the territory is guarded 24/7, also there is reforestation. We are not stupid or violent as you think. Also, I'm sorry if I spelled something wrong or insulted anyone. Just wanna say that we aren't doing nothing.

Thank you for sharing. I think there is a presumption that in regions where endangered species are struggling, there is concurrent abuse and damage of habitat caused by humans (which in many cases it is) but we lack information about current efforts to save them.

In the Far East of Russia there are huge areas of taiga where people do not enter. But Leopards have competitors: tigers and bears. Unfortunately, the growth of the population of one species depends on the reduction of the population of another species.

No, unless you want to go by their look alone. Genetic research shows that snow leopards and leopards are not very closely related (for snow leopards the closest related cat is a tiger for leopards it's a lion) and the Amur leopard is just a subspecies of the regular leopard and related to chinese leopards, not to snow leopards.

Amur leopards are extinct in the Chinese part where they originally are from. The lucky ones the are on the Russian border where they live relatively safer but have to compete with Siberian tigers.

At several points in this vid, the leopard is shown in captivity, including the cubs. So I'm assuming there is some effort. However, I don't know how much of that is for sale as pets, etc. and how much is rescue.
