that is a long time i spent 52 hours in coach on the california zephyr in 1992 and 2012
I think it’s wonderful.. Show the endless possibilities of train travel.. I have taken that route many times in coach.. I’m just grateful for like minded people….
I’m impressed you did this!! I used to ride from Dallas to Chicago in coach several times. It was fun. Now I can no longer do it thanks to Amtrak’s decision to do away with the Sightseer Lounge and full service diner.

Amtrak was REALLY lame to get rid of full dining and the sightseer lounge, on Texas Eagle. Even though Sunset Limited still has these things....

Thanks this is a just what I wanted to see!
This was a different outlook on this trip. Basically the Stations only view. I really liked it. The only downside to your video was that you should do the Walkthrough in daylight so that you can see the layout of the carriages. Night time is too dark with the blue light. Do some more.

Good choice because coach passengers on the Texas Eagle are literally at the bottom of the barrel in terms of amenities offered. They don’t get access to the meals offered to sleeper passengers and they don’t get a lounge to stretch out in or enjoy the views since the Eagle lacks a Sightseer Lounge.
Excellent Video, thank you! I particularly enjoyed the logistics in San Antonio. Did you really stay awake the whole trip to film?

Did you see the sun rise in the lounge car??? He slept thru sanderson
Did you sleep at all in coach since I heard very difficult to due do to people getting on and off the train in the night time and some passengers do not want to be quiet
Juat one comment, Alton's population much larger than 5,000, closer to 50,000
