Amtrak HD 60fps: High Speed 125 MPH Train Action @ Princeton Junction w/ Temp Platform (8/3/16)

To accommodate the high speed rail project between County and HAM interlockings, track 4 has been closed for most of the summer. Therefore, the semi-permanent platform extensions have been in place @ Princeton Junction and Hamilton, which makes for some interesting moves and lots of horn. Included are the Acela 10003 Geometry Car on 2163, 670's return on her first revenue run on 85, and Veterans Unit 642 on 127. Enjoy the action =)

@Owen Bailey-Waltz I had an Audi RS6 and love high speed rail. For distances up to 800 miles rail is better than airplanes. You can go from city center to city center without the hassle of airports. Once you ride fast trains in Europe or Asia you will understand

@Budder Shark "the train would need to be adapted to North American railroad standards" As if this would be a big problem.... 1) Railway manufacturer all over the world adapt their products to the standards of "foreign" railroads on a daily basis - and nobody kicks up a fuss about it, it is simple common practice. 2) The adaption to american standards mainly concerns an adaptation to the below-average track layout and a reduction of the permitted speed..

i doubt that. most of the reason that they aren't going any faster is that the tracks are all wibbly-wobbly and therefore have restrictive speed limits making it hard to really "go fast" with any trainset. maybe it would've been *faster*, but i doubt anyone would be "blown away from such speed"

I really wish they could expand electrification outside of the NEC or at least have another small corridor outside of it that’s electrified like the surfliner trains. I really want high speed trains in the US, but a lot of the cities are too far apart outside of the NEC and trackage rights belong to the freight railroads.
