Nice Video Once Again

This type of thing is NORMAL at the LNS station in MI. CN/CSX Diamond on the route to Chicago, and there is usually 8-10 freight trains through LNS a day. Plus with Amtrak 2 times a day. Amtrak stops at the station eastbound, and the signals activate as they approach, if they pull too far, it will NOT deactivate (express situations for Amtrak quick de-train and re-train,) otherwise, the gates will go back up, and when its time to go, they idle up to the crossing with about 8-10 horn blows and...

This isn't a malfunction, in fact it is more of a feature to avoid stopping traffic for too long. Many newer crossings have functionality that provides constant warning time for oncoming trains, so that a slow train will get closer to the island before activating the signals. Some of these newer crossings (such as the one in the video) will disable the signals if a train stops before the island. A train on the island (or within a short distance of it), however, should force the signals to be active until it leaves.

Awesome Video Alan! If the crossing is permentily closed, then why are the crossing signals still here? The railroad needs to take the down the signals. They could re-use these signals, if they turned this crossing into a pedestrain crossing!

If i get a train simulator where you can decorate your own train map, i would build a Lakeland FL map. It will contain the Track switch WEST New York avenue so that New York avenue would be "active" and "not closed" lol.

Oh melineum force this is like sitting in a front seat of a train movie.

I made video on August 4 2013 when amtrak stops at lakeland station and then it's going to depart and after amtrak train goes by over here a csx train going to come over there head to amtrak station in lakeland florida the gates are going back down right about now

Millenniumforce this crossing looked upgraded, it has dialight LEDs and led gate lights, this crossing looks to be a 2005-2010 upgrade and install
