Paddle shifters and AMT go hand in hand quite well. I wonder why no other manufacturers have thought of this apart from some old supercars 😮

The striking similarity with the kuv 100 in the side silhouette is amazing

So with paddle shifters we can drive downshift and upshift when needed? Just like changing gear?

I am using Exter AMT in which I am able to feel gear shifts very well, I don’t suggest AMT who don’t like the shifts

Maruti and Hyundai amt is very smooth

I have a different experience with maruthi's . There's this mileage tune ( i think) which eagerly shifts the gears up,some times from 3 to 5th, and the thing is ,this is not depend on terrain,only rpm. So there are situations in which there's a uphill after a straight road, you'll feel powerless... But in manual mode,all sorted. No clutch,no stalling or knocking,down shifts are its own and good to drive.

IVT is smooth no feel of a shift at all since it’s a band. You wouldn’t feel any sort of a jerk.

What is it that small to sit or the driver big

Surprisingly when i get the test drive, and when i push the vehicle it doesn't shift till 5000rpm and i need to change it manually using paddle shifter.

Is it just ok OR good OR excellent?

Pedal shifter in any automatic amt or proper amt is good when need to shift manually. Its better you xan change gear without putting off the hands from steering. Why people say pedal shifter in amy is weired?

But what about the safety/ crash ratings. Unfortunately none of the Hyundai, Kia and Maruti cars are safe as compared to Tata, Mahindra, Honda and Skoda/ VW. These car manufacturers are working on the aesthetics by giving 360 degree camera, Panoramic sunroof, Cooled glovebox, ventilated seats, AMT/ CVT/ DCT etc. But doesn't want to work on the safety aspects which is most crucial and paramount. Having lesser mileage but a 5 star NCAP rating would give more joy in long run.
