Thanks for the very clear video! Since 2023, it is also possible to use contactless payments on all dutch public transport. You don't have to signup or register for this: simply place your smartphone or contactless debit/creditcard in front of the reader to check-in. It works on all forms of public transport in The Netherlands, and you pay the regular (full) price per trip.

Hey, Thank you for this video and explanation. I will be there for 3 nights in Amsterdam and planning to buy the Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket but I am confused about the timing mentioned on the website. It says "A day in this context begins at 00:00 and ends the next day at 04:00" is it 28 hrs? (24 + 4). I am planning for a 3-day pass. so will it expire on the 4th day at 4:00 AM? Please advice.

It is valid for 24 hours starting at your first check in. During this 24 hour period, you can transfer and check in and out as many times as you want. Thanks for your feedback .

The three-day passes I purchased from the airport did not work well at all. There are multiple transportation methods and they do not work on trains. I found they also failed on the metro and buses after working the first day. As such I started using my credit card. However, the tap on and tap off requirement is very annoying. I was charged an exorbitant fee on one card, for a failure to tap off. The infrastructure is good, but these cards do not work well in my experience.

I would recommend to buy "GVB Children’s Day Ticket" which will be cost effective as it cost on 4 euros, but is valid for 1 day. The main difference with the Amsterdam Travel Ticket is that travelling from and to Schiphol Airport is not included, but i would suggest to but that separately one way ticket . Ok sure then i will let u know about the best ticket price in a couple of days. Even though "Amsterdam and regional ticket" is an easy pick because 2 places tulip garden and Zaanse Schans will be covered under that plus u can use that within amsterdam. But i want to see if something can be done cheaper than this.

For first day per person you should take (1 Day GVB Day pass + 1 airport train ticket(5euro)) and for other 2 days as your are doing regional travel you should take (2 days amsterdam regional travel pass)
