Honestly what were the TO’s smoking? The only universe in which there are 8 better players than amsa right now is the one where the 5 gods are still playing at top level.

aMSa's pressure last stock of the second game was *insane*

before the set started scar kept talking about how zain was the "big dog," so that made the beginning so much funnier ROFL "all i know is that the big dog... just lost a stock in FOUR SECONDS"

Imagine having to beat Hbox and Zain to make it into top 8, this tourney is wild

aMSa is my favorite Melee player but sometimes, just sometimes I kinda feel bad for people playing against him. Imagine going into a game where everyone wants you to lose. That's what it means to face aMSa. You're not just playing against him. You're playing against every single spectator in the venue.

Melee commentators are next level man, honestly such a witty group of people.

aMSa went TURBO mode during this set ! Always a bless to see these two play

What a crazy time we are living in where in order to make it to top 8 you HAVE to beat Zain AND HBox. Insane.

This set is proof that yoshi matchups are finally getting figured out, and it's not that bad for yoshi. This set looks so much more like two well understood characters battling, like a spacie ditto.

I think it’s just that players understand aMSa, who prefers initiating neutral interactions, even when at positional disadvantage. Notice how conservatively Zain played here with regards to positioning and approach. Zain was mostly just waiting for aMSa to make a mistake, which was a bad bet because (1) aMSa was on point, (2) aMSa works with mistakes so naturally that they often seem intentional. (edit: spelling)

Amsa wants the Off-season and Big House repeats.

This might be the hardest one for him to win. His plup record is horrible, his mango record isn’t bad but his moky record is also horrible. He can do it but it’s not looking likely

While I agree that his win record against Plup isn’t great, he has beaten him twice, which is something. Mango also has a 100% win ratio against moky so it’s very likely that he’ll be facing Mango if he beats Plup.

@@itsame12345 That's a bit deceptive, the last time aMSa beat Plup was in 2018, since that they've fought 4 times each of which Plup has always won, and they had that first to 25 he absolutely rolled aMSa in. In 2018 2 of the games he played against Plup was also the only games he's ever gone Fox vs aMSa and I'm sure he's not making that mistake again.

? Yoshi’s wave dash is waaaaay easier than fox’s tho??? Fox has one of the more awkward jump squats in the game so the window to wave dash is far more strict.
