That description isn't completely wrong. Amphibia does get dark but for the most part it's light hearted adventures like Season 1 or 3A.

The first time I watched that episode and heard that line part me was like: "This feels too centered to be a throw-away joke line." After a while I forgot about it, but when I watched the finale and saw the Calamity God straight up turn into Domino my mom heard me shout "OH MY GOD DRUGGED UP ANNE WAS RIGHT-"

Don’t say it had the balls to kill it’s main character. It had as much balls as space jam 2. She was never really dead. It’s a good show, but that’s not a good compliment of it.

You know what’s funny! Before “The Hardest Thing” everyone assumed Anne would lose an arm and Hop Pop would die, but instead it was Anne who died and Grime who lost an arm. So technically the foreshadowing was correct, people just chose the wrong characters

In Contagi-Anne Anne was crying over the Plantars supposedly dying while they were lying face-up in a shallow pool though they were accepting of it, and in the finale the reverse happens (though this time with actual dying)

I love how sasha was the only one who didn't die, marcy did die but was put in a rejuvenation tank so the core could use her body, and anne died but a copy was made

she ALMOST did, back in the season 1 finale, damn they all be traumatized-

Can we also talk about "And I'm the personification of Metamorphosis" because that is a huge theme in the whole series, in various ways for all of the main girls, but for Marcy in particular she really goes full cocoon mode in the finale and comes out more powerful than ever.

I noticed in a different video. I wasn't sure if anyone else did!

Small theory I had for over a month now... When Anne wakes up in the afterlife, she sees 4 stars leaving a colored trail, Blue, pink, and green BUT also yellow?! Obviously, blue, pink and green represent the Calamity Trio and the Calamity stones. But what does the yellow mean? I believe that maybe, just maybe...this is foreshadowing the future of Amphibia as a series. Remember Anne, sees these stars together after she dies, and after she met the God of the Multiverse she was told she would be the next guardian, which is interesting to me. Another detail I think is pretty interesting, is the fact that both the stones along with the music box faded into pure dust. But, let's focus on Anne, SHE was specifically chosen to be the next Guardian of the Multiverse, right? Well let's talk about that, I believe that once she does become the Guardian, some sort of anomaly may appear in either the human world or in Amphibia or perhaps some other Universe. Maybe she'll remake the music box, but this time including four Calamity stones, with the yellow stone being in the middle of the three stones. The yellow stone may represent someone who keeps the team/friend group together, this will be our new protagonist whole quirk. Much like Anne, they'll begin as a naive character who just sticks around their friends, but instead of following their friends' plans, she'll try to find ways to make everyone happy at once by making their own plans. This new protagonist's main downside, will be that their a people pleaser, they'll try so hard to make others happy that it'll slowly but surely take a toll on their mental health. Their character development is a bit predictable but still satisfying. They'll realize that they can't please everyone, and in order for everyone to be happy friends breaking up and going their separate ways is fine because we're human. The protagonist will start taking more care of themselves, just as much as their friends, making her character development fully complete. As far fetched as this may sound, I really hope that Matt covers this in the Marcy Journal. I noticed a lot of people not talking about this, mainly because everyone was discussing if Anne is a clone, but I do hope that maybe the Amphibia team does something with the concept of 4 Calamity Power Holders. I don't think they will, but Matt isn't against going back to the world of Amphibia via a spinoff/movie. But, only time will tell. And remember, that's just a theory. A FILM THEORY! I love the part when Anne sacrifice herself to save the friends that she loves especially when sprig tried so hard to stop her but he just didn't want Anne to leave him I really feel bad for sprig he's so scared of losing Anne as a big sister he didn't want to let her go sprig never felt so scared and devastated before in his life he needed her and he loves her no matter what he thought he was never gonna see her again when she died but sprig and Anne had the best moments together but I love it when Anne said "don't cry sprig, it's okay" it was so sweet that Anne loves sprig she wanted to be there for him he'll always be Anne's best friend forever

Marcy literally saying "I'm the personification of metamorphosis!" at around 1:30 is ALSO foreshadowing to Darcy

At the end when Anne had a rebirth, i questioned myself: "But now Amphibia has no moon?"

Ok i was wrong Amphibia had 1 moon and now has 0 I thought it had 2 because another comment said it but now i decided to check myself and realised amphibia pnly had 1 moon

Dude the foreshadowing on this show is absolute golden. Very inspiring to be honest.

I always knew Anne was gone to be next, giving that both Sasha and Marcy nearly died in each finale. I always knew Anne was gone to be next.

I'm just sad that I fell in love with this show so fast and can't even finish watching it for a long time which hurts just as much as finishing the show off.

There's a scene in "Bessue & Michelangelo" where Anne tries on different outfits and she dresses up as a moth, which symbolize death

I didn't really like how quickly Sprig turned around from not wanting Anne to sacrifice herself to blow up the moon to letting her go, but looking back at that scene it actually makes sense. Sprig got to Anne when it was too late to cancel the spell that would kill her and he knew it; he tried to deny it and bargain her back, but when he held her hands and presumably felt the dips and cracks that her great power physically chipped away from her body, he knows there's nothing else he can do -- the deed is already done. That's how I choose to read it anyways.

Just from the beginning, I knew this show was gonna throw so much at us. After the first few episodes, I figured “well… She’s gonna die. Reborn or not, she’s gonna be presumed dead.” I think the deaths in this show make it so much better. They keep us, as viewers, hooked and desperate to know what happens to our beloved characters, and honestly? Killing off a main protagonist isn’t done too often, so when it does happen it’s always a strong, emotional and heartbreaking moment. Which again, is what makes the show so good. It’s emotional, it gets you thinking, and there’s so much to look at. It’s beautiful. I can already tell that the writers, animators and voice actors had such a hard time making that final scene of Anne’s death. Even if the tears they cried were fake, that emotion was definitely real.

2:32 I saw this episode like a week ago and LOST MY MIND when I realized they foreshadowed Domino being a god, glad someone else noticed

2:31 Yea, I think I speak for the entire Amphibia fandom when I say that when I saw Domino in The Hardest Thing, I immediately started having flashbacks to that exact moment.

That feeling when you die but god copies you and gives that copy your life while you're still dead.

Remember how 3 stone deity said that they will wait for 78 years until Anne gone back to that floating house place *That is a foreshadowing to Anne "official" death*

One thing that crossed my mind, probably not foreshadowing, but the scene where Marcy is going on about ghosts and asks if there is even an afterlife…

This is so much foreshadowing that even the shadows can't fored it! 😂

srsly tho, why has no one made fanart of Anne as a boddhisattva yet most Buddhist art depict Buddhas/boddhisattvas with fire-themed full-body mandorlas similar to her Calamity aura, and they are always standing upon a stylized depiction of a lotus flower also, *the cracks on Anne's face* were also foreshadowed in one of the *prophecy artworks*

i just realized this but king andrias and anne are very similar in character. They always listen to those around them and not taking up for themselves. king andrias with the core and his father and anne with sasha and marcy. But in the end they end up doing the right thing even if it means sacraficing something. honestly its pretty cool how they both reflect each other.

also, in the episode Cane Crazy, hop pop makes a joke about Anne's hair being like a dandelion. Dandelions are yellow but become white and drift away. Symbolizing Anne being normal, alive, and happy like a yellow dandelion, but then becomes a cracked white figure who drifts away.

Another foreshadowing I noticed was during Marcy's theme song. At the end when Marcy says "I hope nothing bad ever happnes to me" (or something like that, Adries winks. This foreshadowing something bad happening to Macy in the future.

1:10 In this scene also, when she is shown in real life just being high she is doing the pose that Anne did when destroying the moon ( besides the kneeling I think)

5:53 this is my favorite part from the hardest thing

One of my favorite details about Anne's dentist drug high, was that in "Marcy's Guide To Amphibia" Anne wrote down what exactly happened in her high, saying "Domino said I was pretty fun to watch" neat little detail.

The thing about Anne's death scene that always hits me the hardest is the little smile she makes as she turns into leaves. I don't know why, but it's heart wrenching.

I don't think most of the things in the video are actual foreshadowings of her death. Anne saving Sprig doesn't really prove anything, Anne telling Sprig to leave her is more so to establish that she can recognize her mistakes and to make the audience laugh when Sprig punches her. I'd argue the foreshadowing for the calamity powers is a different foreshadowing entirely. Same with Anne being exhausted from using her powers and Sprig catching her. Or Darcy trying to kill Anne. Or her speech. Death or not, these scenes would have surely remained the same. Most definitely considering all of these are just very basic tropes

You can choose to believe that. But to me, all of these moments still hint towards Anne making the final sacrifice play which is what foreshadowing is. There were so many moments that Anne could have died, and should have been dead long before the series, but against all odds, she stayed alive. Why is that? Well Anne was allowed to live through those near-death moments so she can choose to give up her life in the finale. Again, you can disagree with me there. But I stand by my case

@@Marngel I'd argue Anne surviving the unsurvivable is still not foreshadowing. Plenty of protagonists who survive against the odds don't sacrifice themselves.Sacrifice or not, she was going to survive all that regardless

@@Marngel A detail that alludes to a subsequent revelation later on in a show/movie with unquestionable, but merely implicit veracity. For example: the zodiac wheel and symbols from Gravity Falls. It is first foreshadowed when Bill refers to Soos, Dipper and Mabel by their symbols despite him calling Gideon and Stan by their names. And even if that is too vague to count, he shows the wheel while peacing out. And later, Gideon uses it to summon him. And in the finale is when the wheel is finally, formally mentioned. Or think of the Luz/Hunter switcharoo in CotH. "Luz" uses Hunter's power, "Hunter" mocks Kikimora, and Gus has magic rings while seemingly not doing an illusion (though, this last one isn't super consistent)

But the fact in the first episode when she said "DO SOMETHING!" her eyes turned blue-

1:03 I don't know why but I like the background music here. Btw when Anne said rainbow magic the gem stone colors pink(or red) green and blue are the colors of light and when you put them together they make the color white and white is all colors which means the color white is like a rainbow of colors... I know red yellow and blue are primary colors but in light its red green and blue you make yellow by mixing red and green. The more colors you add, the darker it gets because pigment on printed material absorbs light. I tried my best explaining that sorry if it doesn't make sense...

To be honest, yellow is only a primary colour because of the ingredients we use to make the dyes. Green is the true primary colour (pun unintended).

Also pink isn't primary. Magenta is red+blue.

“I’m the personification of metamorphosis” Marcy said wit her butterfly outfit. In Japanese folklore butterflies are the souls of the dead too. So i guess there was foreshadowing on her death too :)
