It really is an honor to finally see this video! I feel as though fanfiction isn't something that's talked about a lot in their respective fandoms, especially good fanfictions. I get it, it's easy to take the piss at bad fanfics which are honestly a dime a dozen. But some creators out there get an idea for fanfic and want to try to make it an actual great fic! There are a lot of content creators who like to talk about the show itself, which is great, but I feel there should also be talk of the fans who go to the effort to make things from the shows that inspire so much joy. Despite being an incredible creator in his own right I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about Morning Mark and the comics he makes, nor have I heard people talk about Amphibia season 4 or Owl House season 4, those being fan projects, made to continue the series. I'm very appreciative to see that you hold my fic in such high regard, when I started writing it I wanted to make it a good read and I wanted to try my best to make the characters feel natural in this new environment. I should also point out that I started this fic when the shows in question were still relatively new. The fic was first published in November of 2020. Right after season one of Owl House and season one and the first half of two of Amphibia had just finished airing. So at the time, there was still a lot we didn't know about both shows. I also want to address the whole "Korra as anime" thing. I know that Korra isn't anime, but at the time I wrote that line I had no idea how popular my fic would get,. It might also be my own personal feelings as I feel that for all intents and purposes, both Avatar and Korra might as well just be called anime, I feel the same about the Castlevania series, so I have a tendency to call them anime despite knowing that technically they are not. So that was my bad, and I guess now that mistake is forever immortalized in my fic... oh well. But as for the review itself, I think you hit a lot of the right notes and things that I was going for. I like your analysis of the relationship between Sasha and Luz. You nailed it exactly. For Arc 1 I wanted to play with the dynamic of Sasha's manipulation and how it would work if a new friend were to enter the group, and what would happen if that new person tried standing up to her. At first, Sasha thinks (because Luz got expelled) that Luz is another "bad girl" like her that she can convince into doing shady stuff, like carving her name in a bathroom mirror, but later after Luz wins the scare dare and subsequently doesn't wear the clothes Sasha picked out for her at the dance. Now Sasha sees her as a threat, a threat she needs to get rid of. As for Marcy and Luz, you know I honestly did consider shipping them when I started the fic, the only reason I didn't was because at the time we didn't know that much about Marcy. When she was introduced in the show she seemed so nice, I was worried that there might be some twist about her later, and I guess I was sort of right, but yeah, that's the only reason I didn't go for a Marluz ship, but I'd honestly love to see someone else do it. Anyway, I love your commentary on Marcy and Luz's friendship too, another reason I wanted to write this fic was to see the two of them interact and I'm glad you liked their moments. My two favorite chapters to write from this Arc were chapter 7 and chapter 9 for I think pretty obvious reasons. Both of those chapters were major moments in this arc, and I loved your commentary on them. Especially how you said chapter 9 would be a doozy, and yeah it was. As for the overall arc, you nailed what I was going for. You'll notice it a lot as you continue to read the fic, but the fic as a whole has a sort of ebb and flow or "wave" motion to it. In this Arc, there is a buildup of Luz becoming friends with the cannon group in the first chapters, only for it to come crashing down in chapters 9 and 10, as you pointed out. You'll see more of this as the fic goes on. Generally, the chapters will build up to a certain moment, and then in one chapter we have the big climax where that moment is paid off. I'm especially excited to hear your thoughts on a certain chapter in Arc 3 as that's the "crash" from a lot of buildup before that (those of you who have read the fic probably know what I'm talking about). Again many thanks for making this video, it truly means a lot to me and I am honored to have a video review of my fic. An actual fanfic that's way better than Loyalty Among Worlds. I've seen people who wrote their fanfics based on that fanfic where they put their OC as the fourth calamity member were either inspired or try to rewrite it how it should be but non of them weren't even good enough. But this fanfic based on revamping/fixing LAW was the only good one because of the writing. I would also say that Luz being in it was also the reason why it makes it good because everyone always wanted to see a Owlphibia crossover and how she would interact with the Amphibia characters and how her experience in Amphibia would be. How Darell wrote his self insert arc was basically being shoved with Anne through almost the whole series by just having the same arc as her while Luz had her own story. I've seen people didn't like fan crossovers especially from DeviantArt or character inserts as the 4th gem but this was just better unironically.

Just to be clear, I didn't write this fic in an attempt to fix LAW. In fact, I'd never even heard of LAW until finding the first video that AstroEvada did on the fic. I think at that point I was already working on Arc 3 of this fic. I wrote this fic because, as you say, I wanted to make a good Owlphibia crossover.

But how come almost the whole story is the same like the fourth human is with a salamander with magic, shipped with Anne, and they went with Anne to earth at the end of season 2. Like pretty much almost everything matches up except that Luz wasn't stuck with Anne the whole time until the start of season 3. That's pretty much what I heard from the Darrell fanbase or hatebase.

Wait, did you just get on the case of 'The Legend of Korra' not being an anime while also saying in the same video that 'RWBY' is an anime? That said, agree that RWBY is peak! Oh, and great review, though maybe a bit too many 10 out of 10 considering you did say you liked some chapters more than others. It's fun though to see reviews of fanfics on youtube, especially positive ones at that, as those are rare. I have read the majority of this fic myself, and really did like it for the most part (I did have some issues with it later, but not with the chapters you went over in this video), and was especially interested in the Luz/Anne pairing...which is way more rare than it should be.

Yeah, I think it was just that I finished reading an awful fanfiction prior to reading this one and so I gave every chapter a 10/10. In retrospect, I would've probably had a 9/10 for those chapters that weren't as strong.
