Boy does this bring back the memories. Stoltzfus was our favorite restaurant in Amish county and we loved going there on a day trip from our home in Frederick County, Maryland. This was in the 1980s when Stoltzfus was just a restaurant. I recall there was a fixed menu. Once you were seated in a large unpretentious dining room the food bowls and plates of food would star coming out...broasted chicken, the fabulous sausages, coleslaw, ham salad, and vegetable sides. Then the plates were cleared and you were served dessert. I remember cherry pie with ice cream. The food was so delicious and it looks like many of the same items are still available in the new operation. The old place was not fancy and far less commercial but we so enjoyed the service, sitting at a long table with other diners. I recall there were baked goods for sale near the front of the restaurant. As we often say, those were the "good old days" and a much quieter, slow paced way of life. However, at least the wonderful Soltzfus food is still around and the business is thriving. Glad we found your video. Thank you. Susan and Gary

If you’re still in the area, or the next time you go, you should check out September Farm. They make their own cheese there, which sometimes you can watch them do, they have a country market and their deli selections are out of this world!

The Hayloft is now a snack bar/ice cream place no longer the awesome candle shop. Fox meadow Creamery is a must see, September Farms Cheese and Emma's Popcorn.

Planning a trip to Holmes County in May so Ive been watching those too. I had heard of Hershberger's, but didn't really think about a stop there, but after watching your video, I definitely will stop there - I have to see the horse in person!

Oh I've been there, how fun to have you go to a place I actually know. My late husband loved their sausage, and he always had to have some scrapple while he was there or when we would go down the shore in New Jersey it was always the first breakfast he would have, I'm not a huge scrapple fan, but I've had it. So much good stuff in that store, and yum to the restaurant, now I'm hungry. Thanks for sharing another great experience.

i watch this awhile back and decided to take a day trip and stop here for lunch ! I order the sausage sandwich. it didn't disappoint! . highlight of the day. We were going to try Shady Maple for breakfast but with traffic trying to go through Philadelphia we were not going to make it. so Amos Place will be it.

Another outstanding place. Your meals both of you were simply delicious looking. I liked both of them. Your ham salad would be my choice something we never see here even at our gourmet sandwich shops. The bakery I would have a hard time leaving anything behind. Apple pie is my favorite had me drooling along with the variety of cinnamon rolls. Yuuuummmmmmyyyyyyyy❤️

What an awesome place to both shop and eat. The ham salad really looked good. I love ham salad and would enjoy it without the lettuce, tomato and onion. What a variety of food in the store area. I've been a customer of Stoltzfus meats for many many years. we used to eat at their home style restaurant as a kid back at their original place. Best sausage ever. get it every holiday. Mom's thanksgiving stuffing depends on it.

They do have a nice market. I know there were a few hotels in Pigeon Forge that we mentioned that you could not have pets. But we will definitely do that in our reviews of hotels.😎😎

I love him salad that's one of my favorites I love it with relish and mayonnaise is so good I do that usually after when you have leftovers for Christmas or for like Easter I make ham salad it's so good little Chopper we put in the put it in the shop and Shop it all up and mix it up altogether and it comes out pretty good I like it in my dad likes it we do that with chicken salad also but I like to fry up onions first and then I add the onions with it tastes good too or like rotisserie chicken

Totally agree, Fantastic food, Fantastic prices and value for money and Fantastic choices. Just like you said, a Car Park full of customers tells you everything. It really bugs me that these Brits here are so Closed to learning from the Americans, they could learn so much from you if Only they were more Open! But they are Not, they are closed and think they know it all. We have Nothing that comes close to that store Unless you get into Big cities like London. And those are some of the reasons why this Brit gave up on the U.K. many years ago. You guys in America have many similar places to this everywhere, I consider American food the best in the world, and all the different choices are amazing. These crazy Brits here who have never been to America think Americans live on burgers & fries, ……far from it! The different foods in America available, and all the different choices are Amazing! Best country on Gods green earth!!

Next time you are in Lancaster area try Agape' Restaurant. My husband and I have been there twice so far, food is so good and people are extra nice. Try the Reuben sandwich, best I've ever had. Safe travels. Have a blessed day. Also we stay at The Carriage House and you get a free breakfast at restaurant across the street from them.

Hi Guys! I just love Amish food-always so fresh and tasty! I have a Dutch Amish market 5 minutes away from my home and it is fabulous. They have a fresh fish market there that has such a large variety of fish that puts the grocery stores to shame. You can get fresh fish to go (no smell) or cooked fish and other seafood to order. the Amish goods are so plentiful and delicious. Your sandwiches looked so yummy and I am sure they tasted so fantastic. It is a good way for the Amish to make a nice living. I take home small Shepherds pies for under $6 that are so good to eat-I just love them. Bobby, how do you keep your nail polish looking so beautiful and chip free? Do you have to polish them often?

Our food was very good. We liked the market they had. I Polish my nails and then I put a clear top coat on after they dry. It helps so they don't clip. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
