When she sang 'Stars' and he growled 'RISE' in unison, it was so spectacular to hear. They are so good at matching their vocals and picking the right parts of the song to entwine their parts together, just sad that she hasn't done any more songs with them. So good.

Just when I thought Amorphis couldn't impress me more, they pull out a song like this. Long.... live.... Amorphis!!!

This band is so special. Their sound cannot be copied, they're on a whole different level to other metal bands. I get the strangest feeling when listening to them. It's almost like a sense of tranquility and calmness. I'm currently on a hospital bed in a shit load of pain but this makes me so happy. Long live Amorphis!

It's pretty much the soundtrack to Finland. Haunting, horrible, supremely elevating and full of insane contrasts. Also has a tendency to get freakishly stale every now and then.

As my finnish teacher, who taught me about Nordic history, said to me: finnish music is pure melancholy. She was right... I love this kind of music from Finland.

The reason is that Finland has a really long tradition of "poem singing" in which poems were written in a certain way to fit a melody that was played on the Finnish national instrument, Kantele. The Kantele instrument was traditionally tuned so that it was in between a major and a minor scale, making everything sound a bit melancholic. After new instruments and musical styles came around, Finns stuck to making music in a similar melancholic tone. That tone is an exceptionally good fit with rock and metal music which caused most people to fall in love with heavier music, which is also why in Finland metal music can be considered popular music, or even "high-brow" music, with many people comparing metal to classical music.

So fortunate to have seen this performed live in 2019. One of the best live performances I've ever seen.

Tomi's grunts are phenomenal, so brutal powerful yet understandable! Awesome! Btw they should make a full album with both vocalists, like 10-12 songs with both Tomi Joutsen and Anneke. That would be kickass awesomesauceness!

Not many bands can consistently put out such amazing music for so long, and to be putting out possible albums of the year at that. I've loved these guys for 24 years now and am still impressed.

Anneke and Tomi's voices are made for eachother. Love the song, love the album, love Amorphis.

Discovered this in 2019, when I still was in elementary school, now I am in middle school and 16 already Great song!🤘

Definitely one of my favourite songs EVER... sublime from start to finish and sends chills through my body every time I listen to it.

I have the album since about 20 hours. Been listening to it in constant repeat. It's almost ridiculous how great it is. With every repeat, the songs grow on you. There's not a single filler. Certainly MY album of the year! Now, I'm waiting for their next tour thru Europe :)

Not usually into this particular style of metal but with Anneke and Amorphis they created something very good.

Tomi and Anneke vocals are a perfect synergy. Yin-Yang, in perfect balance. Looking forward to more!

Their new album is pure gold! Melodic, epic, surprising, well produced metal. Best Finland can offer in this scene. With less clean vocals its also heavier than the last few albums - a step back towards the beginning of this band. I dig this! Worth waiting for... Parasta metallia Suomesta vuonna 2018!!!

Well... The album has its strong moments. But red cloud was better.

And how stunning is the cinematography?!

I love how they mix the vocal and musical styles - it's like a symphony of metal. Outstanding. (And so impressed that the lead singer with the wonderful voice also does the growling! Skills!)

I have loved Amorphis since I first heard Tales from the Thousand Lakes. That was the album that got me in to metal when I was about 12 or 13. That album remained my favourite until Eclipse was released. Hearing Eclipse for the first time blew my mind and I felt the same hearing that as I did when I first heard Tales, a feeling that I had not had since the a teenager. Now having finally purchased 'Queen' and listened to it on repeat, I have that same feeling again.. This has quickly become my favourite Amorphis album and is definitely the best album of the year.

It boggles the mind how five people can work together as a metal band, possibly the most hectic life one can live, for a quarter of a century and still manage to consistently produce amazing art that resounds with millions, including those like you that have been with them since the beginning.
