There is definitely something in her house.very similar things happened to me when I used to live in our previous house.and she is correct they don’t want couple to stay happy my nikah was at the edge of getting divorced.and she said right ki maulvi make things worst.only solution is surah manzil after fajar and magrib.I got rid of all this with the help of surah manzil
