I don't buy into panic buying anymore, over the past 3+ years every time there was a "shortage" I was buying ammo just fine, there is a new modern thing called the internet, and there is literally hundreds of websites that sell ammo, and when everyone else is trying to find ammo at their local store, I was having thousands of rounds shipped to my house.

It's not really panic buying anymore. It's grab what you can grab because there will be no more maybe for good. There not making any civilian ammo in the first 2 quarters of 2024 .. so if you ain't got then you will be without.. times have changed. This world is at war. We got millions of illegals Crossing the borders.. it's bad. And folks need to wake the hell up.. my buddy owns a gun store and has all the connections he said it is about to be like nothing we have ever seen before. I got another buddy that orders the ammo for his store academy sports and he said they stopped shipping 5.56 /223 . What's on the shelf ,if there is any will he the last of it indefinitely..

I buy off gunbroker. 223 steel cased went up 60 bucks per 1000 same seller in 2 days so you aint buying anything cheap on line so save that bullshit story. I'm sure you'll find 223 556 online for 1.20 a round . So by all means wait.

Coming from a Czech they actually bought 70% of fiocchi 1 year ago and bought all Vista outdoor cci,speer,Federal, etc about a week or 2 ago. He and his dad have been in arms ammo and weaponry for years. They are actually good humble people and best they bought it instead of the Chinese

@ourkentuckyhome771 Michal Strnad is the owner very young like 28 or 30. His dad started the company as a salvage company etc and worked hard and humble to create a 20 ir 30 billion dollar company. Both are good men humble abd fire arms friendly I imagine they are supplied Israel with alot of their equipment. Czechlovia or now Czech Republic are great friendly allies to the USA unless Biden screws that pooch and with Israel. I have deep roots in and from czechlovia Prague. Cernosek roots

From what I understand it's not just 5.56 that Lake City is not selling to the civilian market it's all NATO cartridges 5.56 9mm 7.62x51 it's also in all the other Major Ammo producing companies contracts to do the same thing during war time, it probably gonna come that & if it does that means they only produce military cartridges and nothing for the civilian market. This happened during desert storm aswell. Here in Tennessee u couldn't find a primer or powder or Ammo on the shelf once it's gone it's gone, if the supplier can't get it the store can't get it, God Speed y'all Jesus Christ is King !

The military has only 556 that uses small rifle primers. Most rifle cartridges use large rifle primers.

A lot of places online hide the price increases with shipping fees. I found a place that is priced honestly, and actually does have the best price. I am not panic buying, but I would rather buy more now, than just watch the price keep going up. Shortages don't mean that you can't get it, but it may not be affordable.

If people haven't been paying attention over the past few years, they must have been living under a rock. When it comes to stocking ammo, or anything else for that matter, slow and steady wins the race. Most people don't even have enough food and water for two weeks. That's my main concern. When the masses get hungry and desperate, watch out! We're going to have to hold our own I'm afraid...

This is why I traded my AR for a 9mm carbine. Plenty of 9mm ammo is now showing up on shelves even though the price has gotten much higher.

Nothing wrong with 9 carbine except lethality and distance, but a great close distance choice. I'm still seeing plenty of 9mm still as well. Prices are crazy though without a decent sale price. Thanks for sharing.

9 will be next as it is probably the most commonly used round out there.

Stock up on TRAINING AMMO. You need to train. You don't need as much defensive ammo. Training is expensive. So yeah, we need to stay ahead of the curve.

Personally I think everybody reporting on ammo crisis, are the ones responsible for inviting panic buying. American Ammunition Company (AAC) will gladly pick up allot of the slack, for winchester and more. we all new about lake city plant cutting off 5.56/223 for a couple years now since the induction with the new 6.8x51 cartridge. All this is, is a ploy to jack up ammo prices for the holidays, and current overseas events are not helping!

I highly recommend AAC as stated in video. I don't disagree about the more people talk about it, can cause more people buying, however I believe it's only right I explain to our viewers what is coming. If the government was cutting off your water tomorrow and I knew about it, I'd feel crappie watching you die of thirst.

What's brewing is that Lake City is finally focusing on the mission for which it actually exists: Arming the military. Middle aged fat guys LARPing as soldiers, despite their pretensions to being a "militia" are not in any way national a defense priority.

Vista Outdoors sold ammunition business to CSG and they are the 4th largest ammunition producer in E.U. The sale will be finalized by the end of the year. It may not be a bad thing after all looking at CSG they are one of the big defense industry producer in Europe. The impact if there's any will not be until early next year. They might get the market share left by Lake City for civilian market which is 30% of .556/223. From business stand point that's a hefty share and it would be foolish for other ammo companies not to garb that market share.

If you haven’t stocked up on.223/5.56 over the last few months then you’re outta luck for a while. Get going on the 9mm and .308 if you need it because Winchester already said those are getting hiked then cut off soon. The 9mm shouldn’t be too bad because everyone makes it but .308/7.62 could be a problem. Not trying to scare people but that 55gr target ammo literally disappeared in a few days after Winchester canceled those orders.

Don't buy anything during a shortage. Don't ever pay those raised prices or you'll incentivize those prices to stay raised for longer.

The government will do whatever it wants with Lake City. It's the government. I'll be more worried if the private sector ammunition manufacturers are being harassed or even cannot find components to make product. Regarding CSG's purchase of Vista Outdoor, well it's a relatively free market. If they screw up, then there are other manufacturers willing to fill the void. Most likely CSG is very interested in the value generated by Vista Outdoors. They want a piece of the lucrative US market.

That Ruger American is a good rifle for the money. I like the 300 BO, just not fond of the ammo cost. Not easy to reload for me. I'm a NATO 556 7.62x51 9mm guy. Mainly because of availability.
