Amlok Local Dry Fruit of Murree
in this vlog you can see Local Dry Fruit of Murree which we called it Amlok, This Dry Fruit used to eat during the winter. Healthy and delicious fruit although contains too many seeds. Full of antioxidants and can help in reliving symptoms of constipation. Can be found at local dry fruit shops. Its not eaten right of the tree as its too soft. We dry age it under direct sunlight and well ventilated area.

Well the seeds are pretty hard I am sure you won't be able to digest them. They are not edible.

I hope you are not removing them from tree. They turn black while on the tree and to some extent dry up as well later you might need to spread across a cloth and put under direct sunlight it will help you further to remove any remaining moisture

@@travelwithsaliving in europe much of the fruit falls off before going black so we took it off in case we lose all fruit before it goes black, and then have been trying to dry indoors

I didn't try but you can use an air blower(hot) to make the process faster

@@travelwithsa thank you will try...what uses do the branches or cut wood have? i hear it is good for smoking meat or bbq? also what traditional recipes are there for amlok? i want to know more about the culture in that part of pakistan, artisans, food, traditions etc...how are they different from rest of pakistan

I am really sorry to say that I have never experienced smoking meat or bbq. Well we eat the fruit during Winters 😊 and never seen them being used in any recipe.
