"Je souhaite que vous alliez tous bien. Aujourd'hui est le 5ème jour de l'événement "Souhaits pour Mettre Fin à l'Adversité". Aujourd'hui, les prières que nous réciterons ensemble sont le "Sutra Dharani du Son du Tambour de l'Immortalité" ("Sutra de l'Essence de la Vie et de la Sagesse Incommensurables") et les "Souhaits pour Renaître dans le Champ Pur de Béatitude" de Karma Tchakmé. Le "Sutra Dharani du Son du Tambour de l'Immortalité" est l'un des nombreux sutras associés au Bouddha Amitayus dans la version tibétaine du Kangyur. Le Bouddha Amitayus-Amitabha est l'un des bouddhas les plus connus de tous ceux mentionnés dans les sutras du grand véhicule. Dans la tradition des Champs Purs du bouddhisme en Chine, le Bouddha Amitabha est le principal centre de pratique. En général, la pratique d'Amitabha est facile à faire et a de grandes bénédictions. Elle s'est donc largement répandue parmi la population. Amitabha est probablement le seul bouddha dans le grand véhicule à qui une lignée spécifique lui est uniquement consacrée. Je ne pense pas qu'il y en ait d'autres. Bien qu'il n'y ait pas de tradition distincte de Champs Purs au Tibet, il existe d'innombrables enseignements et pratiques d'Amitabha provenant du Kangyur, des Termas et des Visions Pures. Parmi eux, ceux que tout le monde considère comme faisant autorité sont les sutras et les dharanis d'Amitayus-Amithabha dans le Kangyur. Ce "Sutra Dharani du Son du Tambour de l'Immortalité" ("Sutra de l'Essence de la Vie et de la Sagesse Incommensurables") est, entre sutras et tantras, classé parmi les tantras. Comme le dit le Sutra des Caractéristiques du Champ de Manjushri : Tous les dharmas dépendent de conditions ; Ils reposent sur la base de l'aspiration. Ainsi, nous devrions également, même dans notre vie quotidienne actuelle, porter l'intention d'aider les autres, favoriser une bonne motivation, ainsi que prendre soin de notre environnement naturel et des animaux. Si nous le faisons, nous pouvons créer un petit Sukhavati autour de nous. De nos jours, nous faisons face à de nombreuses crises environnementales graves et périlleuses, comme le changement climatique. Les scientifiques le constatent et nous prennent par la main pour nous le montrer, mais si nous manquons de motivation et de courage pour changer, cela ne peut pas être très bénéfique à notre situation actuelle. Nous pensons peut-être que nous pouvons simplement ruiner cette terre puis partir dans un autre endroit agréable, mais je ne pense pas que les relations de cause à effet karmiques fonctionnent de cette façon. Cette terre qui est la nôtre n'appartient pas juste à notre génération ; elle n’appartient pas seulement aux humains. Soit nous pouvons transformer cette terre en un champ pur pour les générations futures et d'autres êtres sensibles, soit nous pouvons la transformer en un enfer. Ceci est entre nos mains en ce moment même. Nous devons tous faire comme le Bouddha Amitabha a fait et générer de vastes souhaits pour le bien des autres êtres, prendre un engagement fort et nous efforcer à accomplir le bien des autres. Je pense que c'est l'un des points les plus importants des enseignements sur Amitabha. Could someone please help me with the pronunciation of "Hrih"? We I look at pronunciation sites, it seems it is pronounced Hreee, but this does not sound like that, and I have heard some others that sound differently, as well. How should I pronounce this?

I think there's a good answer, it may well be a pronunciation thing. It might be similar to this: PADME is spelled as in Sanskrit in Tibetan, but in Tibetan the "da" and "me" are together with the "da" superscribed, and it's pronounced "PEME" because the presence of the "da" changes the "a" sound of the letter pa to "pë" (as in my pet cat) and doesn't itself get pronounced....it's a rule like the "e" at the end of the English word "like" So it could be that, but a Tibetan is needed to confirm that. I've been told in no uncertain terms by a Tibetan that you say "OM AMI DEWA RI" (flipped, not rhotic) I did ask her about the HRIH, which is the case in Sanskrit, an aspirated H. She laughed "no no no, RI is fine" I explained about the sanskrit and she laughed and said "haha too hard" So as Mango Trinh says, it's not terribly important. But it is nice to discover why it is. The PEME example is really due to how the language works. "P" is a pure sound so more like English's "B" This does really sound like he's saying "jen" with a light "j" thing.

No disrespect to your beliefs, but Mahayana is the true vehicle. Do not disrespect it by calling the buddhas and bodhisattvas "fake"

All scholars agreed that Mahayana is in fact Marayana and put a derogatory term towards Buddha's core teaching and only authentic Buddhism as Hinayana being itself a distorted set of practice. There's only one Buddhism and called "Buddhism". Do you know Theravada followers don't call themselves as Theravadin but just Buddhist. Your vehicle already distorted by brahmins and you are clinging on it. Grow up. Mantra practice is a prejudice which Buddha himself rejected.

Tibetan pronunciation is Hrih as in hud-ee. This is Chinese pronunciation, something like zay.

Quiet Nodalahala Owl KohKohkhe Sorry, my knowledge in Buddhism is quite limited, but I will try my best to give information regarding Tibetan Buddhism. Yes, you are right again about "they have a little bit of everything".. they pray to Maitreya (Miroku Bosatsu), Avalokitesvara (Kannon), Ksitigarbha (Jizō-ō Bosatsu), at the same time they also pray to Tibetan God/Bodhisattva, such as Padmasambhava, Vajrakilaya which come from Tibetan ancient tradition. If you are interested to explore further about Tibetan Buddhism, do let me know, I will refer you to a friend who is a monk and still studying in Dharamsala ^^

Dewachen (i think top of tongue contacts top palate, not like English "ch") is the Western Pure Land Sukhavatee (sanskrit) so they are singing OM A MI DEWACHEN i believe. An expert please confirm or repudiate my claim haha! I'm pretty sure that's what's happening!

"Je souhaite que vous alliez tous bien. Aujourd'hui est le 5ème jour de l'événement "Souhaits pour Mettre Fin à l'Adversité". Aujourd'hui, les prières que nous réciterons ensemble sont le "Sutra Dharani du Son du Tambour de l'Immortalité" ("Sutra de l'Essence de la Vie et de la Sagesse Incommensurables") et les "Souhaits pour Renaître dans le Champ Pur de Béatitude" de Karma Tchakmé. Le "Sutra Dharani du Son du Tambour de l'Immortalité" est l'un des nombreux sutras associés au Bouddha Amitayus dans la version tibétaine du Kangyur. Le Bouddha Amitayus-Amitabha est l'un des bouddhas les plus connus de tous ceux mentionnés dans les sutras du grand véhicule. Dans la tradition des Champs Purs du bouddhisme en Chine, le Bouddha Amitabha est le principal centre de pratique. En général, la pratique d'Amitabha est facile à faire et a de grandes bénédictions. Elle s'est donc largement répandue parmi la population. Amitabha est probablement le seul bouddha dans le grand véhicule à qui une lignée spécifique lui est uniquement consacrée. Soit nous pouvons transformer cette terre en un champ pur pour les générations futures et d'autres êtres sensibles, soit nous pouvons la transformer en un enfer. Ceci est entre nos mains en ce moment même. Nous devons tous faire comme le Bouddha Amitabha a fait et générer de vastes souhaits pour le bien des autres êtres, prendre un engagement fort et nous efforcer à accomplir le bien des autres. Could someone please help me with the pronunciation of "Hrih"? We I look at pronunciation sites, it seems it is pronounced Hreee, but this does not sound like that, and I have heard some others that sound differently, as well. How should I pronounce this?

I think there's a good answer, it may well be a pronunciation thing. It might be similar to this: PADME is spelled as in Sanskrit in Tibetan, but in Tibetan the "da" and "me" are together with the "da" superscribed, and it's pronounced "PEME" because the presence of the "da" changes the "a" sound of the letter pa to "pë" (as in my pet cat) and doesn't itself get pronounced....it's a rule like the "e" at the end of the English word "like" So it could be that, but a Tibetan is needed to confirm that. I've been told in no uncertain terms by a Tibetan that you say "OM AMI DEWA RI" (flipped, not rhotic) I did ask her about the HRIH, which is the case in Sanskrit, an aspirated H. She laughed "no no no, RI is fine" I explained about the sanskrit and she laughed and said "haha too hard" So as Mango Trinh says, it's not terribly important. But it is nice to discover why it is. The PEME example is really due to how the language works. "P" is a pure sound so more like English's "B" This does really sound like he's saying "jen" with a light "j" thing.

No disrespect to your beliefs, but Mahayana is the true vehicle. Do not disrespect it by calling the buddhas and bodhisattvas "fake"

All scholars agreed that Mahayana is in fact Marayana and put a derogatory term towards Buddha's core teaching and only authentic Buddhism as Hinayana being itself a distorted set of practice. There's only one Buddhism and called "Buddhism". Do you know Theravada followers don't call themselves as Theravadin but just Buddhist. Your vehicle already distorted by brahmins and you are clinging on it. Grow up. Mantra practice is a prejudice which Buddha himself rejected.

Tibetan pronunciation is Hrih as in hud-ee. This is Chinese pronunciation, something like zay.

Zhen Zen so Tibetans have nembutsu too.:) that's cool just like shin Buddhists. it seems as if the Tibetan Buddhist s have a little bit of everything in their form of Buddhism.:)

Quiet Nodalahala Owl KohKohkhe Sorry, my knowledge in Buddhism is quite limited, but I will try my best to give information regarding Tibetan Buddhism. Yes, you are right again about "they have a little bit of everything".. they pray to Maitreya (Miroku Bosatsu), Avalokitesvara (Kannon), Ksitigarbha (Jizō-ō Bosatsu), at the same time they also pray to Tibetan God/Bodhisattva, such as Padmasambhava, Vajrakilaya which come from Tibetan ancient tradition. If you are interested to explore further about Tibetan Buddhism, do let me know, I will refer you to a friend who is a monk and still studying in Dharamsala ^^

Dewachen (i think top of tongue contacts top palate, not like English "ch") is the Western Pure Land Sukhavatee (sanskrit) so they are singing OM A MI DEWACHEN i believe. An expert please confirm or repudiate my claim haha! I'm pretty sure that's what's happening!
