My mom passed away at the age 90. My four grown daughters adored their grandma! She was a collector of aprons and cookbooks! So, in honor of her, we have a cookie baking day in mid December AND wear her aprons❤️

That is what my parents use to do for my sister, me, and my brother after Midnight Mass. The tradition I created with my kids was; Christmas Eve an early service then we all went to the movies to see a Christmas-themed movie. It was fun taking an aisle of seats or more to sit next to one another. Of course the way things are now...scratch that off, huh? 🤪😍🤗🎄

I’ll go thru each page and mark recipes I will make sooner than later and for what occasion. I have every single cookbook that I ever bought and especially cherish those that were given to me. I’ll usually make extra, so that kids can gift some for their teachers before Christmas break! 🎄✨

I actually grew up in Ohio (about 40 minutes from where you grew up!) and one tradition we started doing was letting the younger kids start cooking. By younger, I mean me, and I'm 22 haha. My grandma, mom, and aunt have always done the cooking for big family gatherings, but I recently moved out with my fiance, and have learned how to make homemade bread from scratch - which actually came from an Amish cookbook I have from Sugarcreek, as well as a whole turkey, stuffing, and lots of desserts. I've always loved to cook, but living with my fiance has taught me a whole other level of cooking that I didn't even know I was capable of. I'm in school to be a doctor, but baking and cooking are definitely a huge passion of mine. My mom, grandma, and aunt still love to cook and do it all the time, but now that I help out with family gatherings and cooking, I'm also starting to get my 19 year old cousin into it, as well as my sister who is 18. We've all had so much fun learning how to cook more meals from scratch and just being more involved. Family is everything and starting the tradition of involving the younger kids has been so special. Absolutely love you and your videos :) Merry Christmas!!

When I joined the conservative Mennonite church, I fell in love with a fruit dessert served at every fellowship meal. It has canned fruit (usually home-canned) in a fruity tapioca sort of base - it's all mixed together, needs to be spooned out of the serving dish. So good! And every Mennonite gathering will have a salty snack and a sweet snack. Oh - one more - "bars" are popular - all varieties of bar cookies. Thank you for sharing your kitchen fun with all of us!

My family has a tradition that’s been going on for 47 years. We call it Christmas Tree Day. The entire extended family meets in the morning for coffee and donuts. Then we all bundle up and get in our cars and head to our favorite Christmas tree farm. Each family finds their perfect tree. We then head back and eat my grandmothers famous beef vegetable soup and have sandwiches as we talk and enjoy the day together. We are now 5 generations doing this. It’s a tradition we will continue forever!!!!

@@cutesybunny3360 It is easy peasy to make and the kids love to help. A bunt pan works best. There are a gazillion recipes on line. Because there are a gazillion different things you can add. Basicly 4 regular size canisters of biskets, cut each bisket into fourths with scissors. Gallon size ziplock bag filled with about one or more cups cane sugar, two to three teaspoons of cinnamon. Toss the cut up biskets in batches into bag and shake them around. Place the biskets after tossing in the bag in a heavily buttered bunt pan. Mix in a packed cup of brown sugar into a saucepan with a stick of butter bring to boil. Pour over the top and bake at 350 about 30 minutes or until brown on top. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes. Invert on a round pizza pan. Watch the fun as the kids pull pieces of the wonderful gooeyness! It's hot be careful. You can add nuts, raisins chocolate chips and whatever you can think up! We have always just done the cinnamon! Enjoy!

As I watch this happen and they each having a certain item they now bring to the table has been such a blessing. Makes me wonder now how my grandmother felt. I watch my mother awe over each item as her great grandchildren paraded them in for her inspection and the joy on her face. Your recipes look wonderful, God bless

Merry Christmas Lynette and to your family. All of your goodies look delicious. Our Christmas is pretty simple as far as gifts go; and we make a point of getting them early enough to slow down and spend time with family and enjoy the season. My daughter and I spend a few days, doing our major Holiday baking; has been a tradition for years.
