I'm not easy to satisfy if it comes about movies on YT but this one is def worth to watch. No Hollywood bs, no computer animations BUT good story , wonderful actors and really def not boring. You can "feel" each character playing their roles pretty professional. Wow. ❤

I watched a documentary about the Pennsylvania Dutch a coue of years ago. I think it was from 1970s maybe 80s. I've never felt more at peace watching them go about their daily lives. They work so very hard and their property's are beautifull and masterfully built. Their vegetable plots are pristine. It showed the womens needlework, and the mens crafting. I felt like their community was safe and secure. I'm sure not all their communities live harmoniously, neither do any others. On the whole they don't need anything they can't grow or make themselves. Whilst we always want more - usually things that are harmful to us in one way or another. We could certainly benefit from some aspects of their lifestyle.

Its amazing how the amish maintain the kind of life they lived despite the changes and progress going on around them. Maybe we should learn something from the amish. Living a simple life in harmony maybe just be the secret to happiness

Bad woman. She was so cold to her husband, I dont blame him for wanting to leave her. She coveted another man openly flirting with him. She’s evil and hides behind her pretense of righteousnesss, a full on hypocrite. The movie is one dimensional, failing to explore the husband’s grief and it makes no sense how he can turn from a loving man into a violent person. Illogical.

Everyone. Was stupid . Brother should have filed charges for assault and battery . Her parents were idiots . Judge shoulda have given total custody to mother after seeing he was a nut job and a restraining order. `She shoulda moved to safe location . Went in the barn and did not latch the door ? Aggravated the crazy husband when he snuck in the house ?

Good movie, better than expected and great acting too. I didn't understand how Jacob got money to move from a poor house in an amish village to a rich mansion in the city? Anyone can explain it?

So after losing their baby, the man takes it out on himself by drinking and daring to dream of a better life for his remaining son, the mother instead chooses to seek love else where despite having her supportive parents by her side, refuses to understand her husband who has no one else, finds reasons to demonize him and takes away everything he has left... his fight for fairness made him take a life and loose his own, while the lady's selfishness won her everything. WOW.

Yeah. I doubt if Amish people say things like 'You're way out of line'. And also, the Amish guy in the bathtub scene obviously waxes his chest. Not very Amish of him.

I am rooting for the husband who is not afraid of change for his family. His temper is balanced because he can be hard and cool. As for the woman, you travelled to the english land, and everything you saw was amazing, and still didn't find meaning to what your husband is saying. Just say you are tired of the marriage. She just literally wants to always control her husband, and the hate in her heart made it difficult to have a proper conversion with him.

A very twisted movie. Woman Lib is living in Amishtown: The hiding of an accidental death in Amishtown that could be looked upon as manslaughter. An Amish brother who is coveting his brother's wife. Amish children are brought up to be Amish from the minute they are born. Is this right or is this wrong? We don't actually know! This movie has it all. An Amish wife who is nagging and therefore not very Amish like, accuses the husband for losing her second baby by telling him he was too late because he was at work when she lost the baby by a miscrriage. She is later offered, by her husband, a better life outside the Amish community, as the husband sees the Amish community as not giveing a person any other choice, but work, eat and sleep, as well as God. Then when the husband, who takes his young son with him, into the English speaking world to see what life is all about, the wife accuses hiim of desertion and kidnapping. Watch and see what you think.
