Amazing reaction from a rapper, but really not weird. i am 72 yo man and never liked opera, but God brought me to her from a FB ad in which she was mentioned in one of the comments. After watching her 3 HGT performances at age 9, i was hooked. Words cannot express how she affects you; she is just so special. You have gotten some excellent selections and there are many on YT. One of my favorites she sang was, "Gabriella's Song" which she sang in Swedish (she speaks Dutch, Afrikaans & English) at age 14 in South Africa (where she now resides). i suggest you have tissues nearby; she makes me cry almost every time i hear her. Try the last 2 songs of HGT Amira sang to win the competition. Incidentally all 3 songs were performed in Italian. Then try Amrias performance with Andre Rieu. A performance for the ages. In front of thousands. Now 10 years old.

She sings just like an angel that she is. You should listen to her sing Amazing Grace.Dhe is amazing.

I loved your reaction because you were like me when I first heard Amira... And it was this same video. I was as stunned as you were. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I would recommend that you next react to her both semi final and final performances - possibly in the one video. Her semi final Ave Maria is quite short, and her final Nessun Dorma (which won her the competition) is so beautiful, and powerful for a child of her age. The two performances together are gorgeous. After that, I'm afraid that there are so many amazing videos of her variety of performances through the years since then to choose from, each equally stunning in it's own way. All end up being favorites!

I don't know if Amira's fans will make you an opera lover, but if you continue you will have an extraordinary journey. A few months later (aged 10) she performed the same aria with Andre Rieu (no longer blocked), having benefited from his expertise, before an audience of around 10.000. She now lives in South Africa, singing arias, classic crossover, musicals, and fun items like Little Drummer Boy. O Sole Mio with Patrizio Buanne is worth adding to the list. Last year Amira did a live broadcast and sang "when you wish upon a star" and was accompanied by her father Gerrit on piano. This gives a view of her maturity now. Thanks from the UK.

Hey Gabi great reaction. You just stumbled onto one of the finest vocalist on this planet. Her voice is so beautiful , the more reactions you do will validate this claim. She is now 18 YO and very accomplished. Amira does more than opera arias, she also sings musicals, classicals, crossovers, ballads, ect. My suggestion is that you react to her performance at age 10 of O Mio Babbino Caro with Andre Rieu in front of over 10,000 in attendance. Every person in attendance gave her a standing ovation. You have to see it to believe it. It's been viewed over 70 million times. Amira has a large following and you will recieve many comments and suggestions.

She is incredible and her voice touches your soul! I'm so happy that I can go to her performance on December 20th! Have fun with your fantastic trip with Amira! I'll follow!

If you want to meet her equal with another talent, check out Alma Deutscher, an English composer, pianist, and violinist with a loaner Stradivarius, who is about her age. She and Amira sing the STEPSISTERS DUET from Alma’s opera, CINDERELLA. Alma sold the show out in SAN JOSE, with two added performances. And again this month [November, 2022] conducting an improved version. She sold out a Carnegie Hall concert of her work, some CINDERELLA, a violin concerto, a piano concerto, and an orchestral number thumbing her nose at her critics, who say her work is too beautiful. So she takes a traffic jam and resolves it into four Viennese waltzes. Wrote every note of all of that work.

Amira is widely considered the best singer in the world. Over 1 billion fans. Also receiving a 50,000 standing ovation at the age of 9. On Hollands got talent. At 18 now she has only gotten better! The best thing is, she doesnt even have to try to reach those notes. Shes just that goodz Over 1 billion fans Over 3 billion views

You were brave to open the door to a whole new genre of music. This was the audition for Hollands got talent. She had to get through the semi-final's, and then the finals to walk off with the trophy and a prize trip to perform in Los Vegas. In the past nine years she has sung many beautiful songs - brilliantly. Mainly opera, also church music, and music taken from films. You could try her Nella Fantasia Live in concert, or her Amazing Grace. Or Your love ( theme from Once upon a time in the west.) If you like it, great, if you prefer rap etc, stick with that. Two years of copying what she heard, mouth from Maria Callas. Lungs from being a winning distance runner. Got a lesson or two from Andre Rieu before the semifinal. She sings the same song, greatly improved, under Andre Rieu, at his concert. Smart, just graduated high school as valedictorian; headed for a world tour for a year. She wasn’t kidding about the Olympics. Got to the national finals in steeplechase.

This young lady is developing into one of the greatest sopranos of our time. I love the clarity and precision of her voice. And alos that she doesn´t use so much vibrato like opera singers usually do. She is living with her mother and her brother in South Africa and is running charity projects for schools there, especially for building playgrounds. If you would like to listen to something more recent of her I would recommend La Vergine degli Angeli (Verdi), or something heavenly then "Ave Maria" Gomez (Canisius Church, Nijmegen), where she is 11 yrs old.

Hi Gabi - welcome to the world of Amira - she is mostly a operatic vocalist but has a lot of crossover Originals - for me she relates a lot to Angelina Jordan with a similar Story - won her National Talentshow one year before Angelina at age 9 - age 10 she full filled a heartwish by her in forming a foundation called 'gelukskinders' where she donate half her income for poor children in South Africa - since today this foundation has build 18 playgrounds in the poor townships - the story behind is as she visited her SA Granny her Brother and she want to head to a playground and asked kids there where to go - the kids dont know what she was looking for and she realised that this kids dont had a place to play - on her foundation you can buy her Albums and Merchandise - i think she was signed for some time to Simon Cowell who produced her first 2 Albums but then diparted from him to make music on her own - after that she prodced 2 more Albums (the last one is only a few weeks old) - she is one of my personal 3 big As in music - 1. Alma Deutscher (British youngster now age 17 i think) who is a Prodigy in creating music (wrote her first Opera 'Cinderella' below age 10) and see notes like colours - she plays different Instruments in masterclass - directs Orchestras and sings too (she is befriendet with Amira and both sang a part of her Opera together in a Video) 2. Amira in Opera and Crossover music and last not least Angelina who Covers the Rest genres with her unbeliaveble unique emotive voice - i really would like Alma compose a song for Angelina an Amira together (like Barcelona) - by the way Amira has sang that song 2 Times to my knoledge - even the Pop Part was not equal to Amiras voice - i love this 3 kids so much

@@Smaugyyy No she wasn't. As part of the Holland's got Talent win , she automatically got the First CD produced, plus then a second one. When she moved to South Africa she made her third CD with Coleske Artists. During covid she organized two streamed online concerts which then we're made into CDs and DVDs plus a live fund raising concert in Belgium 2019. Lastly then on her 18th birthday in March this year, she organized a live concert in South Africa which was also streamed online and a CD of that has recently been made available. All her CDs and DVDs can be bought from her charity foundation Gelukskinders store.

@@shooster5884 Yeah, makes more sense like so, maybe Simons name appear somewhere on the first CDs, as he is the creator of the Got Talent series. I saw one of her online concerts during the Pandemia, and also a video how she is living there with her brother and mother at that time. She is such a humble and positive person!

I have been following her for years now and I can say I am impressed every time I hear her just like the first. She has such amazing control, range, and voice quality and even comparing her to Callas or Sissle is useless in my opinion. She does not force her voice and it is all-natural and God-given. The quality of her voice keeps ringing in the ears long after the song. At nine years old she had this gift and it has only gotten better. Check out her "Barcelona" with Ruhan Du Toit. She just blows me away.

Like your comments and suggest that you listen to her singing Ave Maria (Gomez) her father accompanies her on the church organ while her brother plays the violin and mother plays the recorder this video is only made by an audience member on a mobile phone and even though the sound is not the best it will still knock your socks off (also she is only 10 yrs old in this clip) look forward to your remarks on this performance

In a way an opera double of Angelina. Angelina won NGT at age 8 and Amira HGT at age 9. Both incredibly talented and happy, kind and caring people who spend time and money on charities for children. Opera is not my favorite genre but a some time ago I went with my wife and it is certainly to be experienced if only once. Expanding views and experiences is great to keep an open mind. The trouble with an open mind, of course, is that people insist on coming along and trying to put things in it. Amira has released 4 CD’s now and is being very successful and a rising star in opera land. Thanks!

I would describe Amira as a classical singer at the moment. Three amazing young female extraordinary talents Amira Willighagen, Angela Jordon, and the most extraordinary of all Alma Deutscher - composer, piano and violin player since 3 years old, and now at 17 currently conducting a run if her own opera Cinderella in California aged 17!

@@shooster5884 Cinderella got suddenly sick with no understudy in Salzburg earlier this year. Alma sang the role in German on three hours notice. She said it’s easier when you wrote it.

She is a marvel, I heard this and so appreciated a GOD given gift...

You used the word "wow" and that best describes her, As good as she was then, each year she just keeps getting better. She is now ranked as one of the best sopranos in the world and rightly so. Some people are born to be special and she is one of the elite. She's just finishing high school and planning a world tour in 2023. Her first album produced when she was just 10 went gold in just a few weeks. Not only is she a great singer but also has many other talents. She mentioned about the Olympics and she could have had a career as a cross country runner. That probably accounts for her incredible lung power. She is a humanitarian. She set up a charity to which she gives one half of her income to build play grounds for poor children in South Africa when she now lives. She has been an ambassador to the World Peace Conference. And she is just 18. She does sing other styles besides opera.

I believe Amira is sent by God to keep us human beings grounded. She is such a fantastic angelic soul. She is nineteen in a few weeks and if possible, she is even wonderful.

Jackie and Amira are closely the same age and though I don't believe they've ever met in person they are familiar with each other's work.
