This session begins with a quick overview of amine formation reactions (and some mechanisms) including substitution and reduction. We’ll then cover more advanced reactions including Gabriel Amine Synthesis, Reductive Amination, Hofmann elimination and more.
We’ll also look how to utilize amine reactions as part of your arsenal for synthesis and multi-step reactions.

is sec butylamine a secondary amine? is it not a primary ? because in your example it is a secondary

If the N is attached to just 1 carbon it will be primary regardless of the substitution of the carbon itself. Meaning, a secondary carbon holding an NH2 will be a primary amine. However, if you have more than 1 carbon on N directly, then you have a substituted amine. For example, triethyl amine N(CH2CH3)3 is a tertiary amine even though each of the 3 attached carbons are primary
