He hasn't progressed as a player. He is the exact same player as he was when he was 19. He doesn't deserve abuse, but he does deserve people calling out his performances. No one is having a go at him as a person. It’s all football related. And the problems with courting public opinion is sometimes you don’t like the opinion. If he was playing out of his skin and was banging thirty goals in, manu were top of the league and preparing for a champions league final he would post a tweet about how the negativity simply makes him stronger and he doesn’t listen etc etc etc. he needs to grow up and stop acting like a spoilt man child. He’s got no problems. As a soldier through the late 1990s/all the way through the 00’s and a fair bit of the 10’ and all the fun and games that came with that ( and many of my peers) had to not only write letters in the event of my death to my child, but visit families of troops who did not come home and be part of the explanation to children who didn’t understand, and also put financial plans in place to make sure while we were getting battered in 2006 that my kid had new shoes for school or enough spare money for school trips etc etc. Marcus Rashford has no problems. He has access to the best support, medical care, mental health care (if he so believes in it) and doesn’t have to worry financially. I don’t care if he plays well (not a Man U fan) to to wonder around claiming people have it in for him (yet again) is plain and simply selfish. Log off social media go work in the real world for a year and I guarantee he comes back to football with a different philosophy. Or go hire a guy to follow you around and tell you you’re the best. Weak and fragile spirit. Go work with BLESMA for a morning a see how bad you got it Mr Rashford.

What rashford needs to learn here is the difference between abuse and criticism. If any of it has been abuse fair enough. But, if it’s what I’ve seen a lot more of which is criticism, I’m sorry rashford but it’s deserved. You haven’t been good enough recently and for one of our highest paid players, we’d like to see a bit more effort and what you were last year. It might be worth talking to Harry Maguire, he’ll know all about abuse, and he got his fair share, probably more than anyone I can think of. He just got on with it
