I took looking into Buddhism in 1982 as a proverbial casualty of existence. I read sutras, sat zazen, tried to be mindful, and all the 'good' stuff. Then, reading the book, "The Natural Way of Shin Buddhism" by Matsumoto and Tabrah, I had an Awakening in Faith only some two months ago. The Nembutsu is very very powerful practice, I kid you not. Namo Amitabha Buddha.. Amen !!

This reminds me of Kyoto were I heard a choir sing True Pure Land Buddhist music at the Spring Festival during Cherry Blossom Sakura

I love the simplicity of the chant, and the fact that it can be done at any time by yourself as well as in a group. I'm surprised that hearing it is actually making me feel more peaceful as I already have a mantra practice and don't put much stock in the idea of specific mantras being better than one another.

Oh other than the split screen option, which I usually use for notes, and I forgot I can do other things. But it is still more limiting than having this version as a CD or download.

Is this available as a CD or digital download? I find it amazing! So so beautiful, and soothing and moving and I can't describe how much It moves me. I'd like to be able to access it more easily, and be able to put it on my iPod, play it with a CD player... I would like to listen to it forever!

amida Buddha know how sad it is when you wake up and realize you have left your friends behind. the saving graces of amida Buddha need to be spoken about, but of course you cannot press it to someone. how sad sounding the song really is , do you hear them crying? the people in the western Heavens? life is a solemnity after you know Tathagata Amida for a while. and on him, what the attitude of the savior that I have ever loved , a pact to agree to make up on his enlightenment the promised land that frees from the evils experienced here in samsara. life can be evil to anyone, amida Buddha gives me a fairly good sized rock of hope to carry with me, ensuring me of something....

what I mean is that the Buddha's who make it to Amidas Paradise, they say your very first thought is your friends. I'll miss all of them/you. but still I will thank myself. I am certain of that.

I'm going to buy the CD that this chant is on. However, it is not a recording of this performance. Does anyone know if it is available in some format other than this KZread video? I'd like to have a more portable version, and one that allows me to listen to it with out KZread preventing me from using other app on my iPad. Or is there a way to do that that I'm ignorant of?
