I have only been in the GT2RS so far but that felt pretty damn special to me as well 😀 I think both are bloody awesome.

The M178 LS2 only revs 200 rpm higher than the M178. The flat plane firing order and manifold does allow the turbo to spool faster , but those marginal gains are definitely not worth it for the massive loss in sound quality.

In addition to the superlative cars showcased....I can pause a frame every ten seconds and its a wallpaper- amazing camera work and top notch editing.

Before I watched I just knew the AMG Black would die the by the noise, when the initial media tests started pouring through I don’t recall finishing one video, the noise of a performance car is such a factor and without it i’m one to switch off, for a road going car the emotional experience wins as all these cars are already bloody fast. No doubts the Black is an absolute beast on track but what a turnoff! Often the most joy on road is the part throttle 6-7/10ths driving digging in into the mid-range for noise where you simply can’t go on the full attack, looks like the black needs full commitment to enjoy the power train somewhat. I’m glad you included the AMG GTR within the vid, it’s the most aggressive tune of that epic thundering V8 available and anyone who owns one I’m sure is having a blast. As for the GT2 RS, what a machine! I rate we’re due for a GT2 RS and MC20 comparo, both boosty 6’s with guttural noise and perceived usable friendly/fiend nature yet with hugely different composition! This Black series was a missed opportunity and AMG’s going steep downhill towards the greener future for petrol heads. I very nearly bought a W212 C63 AMG Coupe recently, the older N/A turbo and s/c V8’s will provide so much joy for any future keepers willing the keep them in shape. Great film guys, keep it up and keep it honest as always,

Great video, beautiful machinery and good conclusion. I love GT Black series, but I agree - it is too harsh for public road, in all honesty I would love to have AMG GT for a daily driver more than a Black Series, although as you rightfully said - it is undeniably a track monster.

@@scd Totally agree it's not a DD it should be driven in anger on backroads or on circuit. It's fine to commute to the circuit in. And as noted the sound, it's just disappointing to say the least .

Sick and Sicker

I've driven a GT2RS (with the MR kit, no less) briefly on some similar roads, approachable but intense is the same summation i came to. It's incredible and i'm so grateful to the owner for that experience. I've been along the same roads as a passenger in the Black Series too, i loved the look of the car, its insane in person but i didnt get the same feeling as the feeling i got in the GT2rs inside. I found it really compliant though, i was surprised!

I owned GT2RS and what special about it is the amount of character and drama it have from inside, every single mechanical movement is heard and felt, it's just amazing! Only 675LT beats it in my opinion in experience, GT4RS which currently I own comes close to those also

The GT Black looks better, but other than that, everything else is almost dead equal

Just shows Porsche is way ahead of the curve. Every other manufacturer is scrambling to keep up still to this day.

GT2RS every day of the week over the AMG

It's nice to see a Front mid-engine and a Rear engine car lead the way :) Although we really want to see with the same tires/driver *992 GT3 RS / GT2 RS vs 765lt / Senna vs Aventador SVJ vs AMG GT Black Series* #thesinister6

The review of the AMG GT Black Series is extremely contrary to the experience @Shmee150 is sharing with his travels across the U.S

I guess, obody has heard about new regulations about emissions and noises. Then, it is not the traction control on the left of steering wheel it is stability control and you need to hit twice to a specific way to turn it down or off with a warning on the dash

My 450bhp Sagaris is occasionally too much for the road - so that's the level I prefer.

Both Supersportscars are amazing. But for me the 911 is a little bit more. Thanks to the former Master Rallye World Champion Walter Rohrl who is a official Consultant for Porsche. On the other Side the Badass AMG GT R Benz wich is amazing too.and very close to the mighty 911. Both are in a Class in their Own

Great video, I feel I would take the GT2. Not impressed with sound they make at all. For Merc to make a V8 sound so bad for me ruins it. I mean my £5000 Trans Am Sounds much better than this. But I agree I would rather the GT3 RS over both.

Both are mega, but would definitely be the GT2…

Peaky NA engines are just so much more thrilling on the road. All the torque in the world can't make up for wringing out a high revving engine - where all the drama, thrill and danger is at the screamy end. I think we (largely the manufacturers' fault) are too obsessed with lap times and track cars these days. If we're being honest, most of us love cars that we can drive A to A on a weekend, over anything that performs well on a track (sadly in the UK, we don't have a local Nurburgring ☹️). Oh, and masses of torque + Cup tyres = usable only in the dry. The amount of people that use track tyres on the road baffles me!

I have driven the Black Series on the road and track, and disagree that it is not road friendly. It is really no different than the GT-R for every day driving. I do however, agree that the sound is dissapointing, and if you only drove on the road, and never hit the track, the GT-R with it's sound is just so much better.

AMG all day every day. Don't get me wrong, I love Porsches too, but I think RS cars and turbos don't mix! Great Video SCD team.

Lol this fool is saying the AMG is sketchy while this car was able to shatter records on damp Nurburgring. Go drive your civic kid.

That was a very average head to head presentation. You spent way too long droning on about the avaerage sound and instrument layout of the AMG. Where was the timed shoot-out? The drag race? The prices? The driving modes? You made a Ford Focus review out of track weapons! These are probably the best versions of racecars with number plates ever, and you just faffed around in them, warbling on. Drink a Red Bull or two before taking on cars of this calibre again.Sorry guys. Did not have the desired affect on this viewer.

It seems that Porsche’s engineers did their magic once again. No matter how good the competition is, Porsche’s cars always stand out in terms of drivability, durability etc. Well done Merc but kudos to Porsche again. Cheers!

Crazy how old the GT2 RS looks after the 992s came out :-O

black series doesn't stand for getting the max out of the components... it stands for track based road legal car...more sophisticated handling (ok just ignore the SL65 black series). both the C63 and SLS black series could have had more power but that wasn't as much the goal as having it handle better and set great lap times

Amg gt is beautiful man. The dont think the new 2024 design beats the original.

Its harder to buy one new than drive it ❤ 《gt2 rs》

Quite possibly! Certainly doesn’t rev as high or come on song like a Ferrari does!

How are your roads in the middle of nowhere so amazing? I risk destroying a rim just trying to the shops.

I don't know man but for me it seems the Blacks of yesteryears tell a better story than this GT Black. I'm a die-hard Merc fan and I'd choose an AMG GT (whether GT, S, C or R) over any 911 but when it comes to GT Black vs Porsche then the latter is my preferred one.

Oh god no. The Porsche and Merc don't fall to pieces or have bad build quality. The McLarens are beautiful cars but my friends that have owned them have had nothing but problems with the quality and company.
