I’ve never thought Ross was “hilarious”, give that title to Carson. He’s so funny at the viewing parties. Back to Ross, the interview he did with Drew B. and Ru, he was brown nosing both of them soooo hard that it was the only hilarious thing about him 😂

I prefer carson by a landslide. Carson is actually funny and i cant think of a time when I thought he came off as rude, hes also just more qualified because he actually has a background in fashion so his fashion critiques arent based on nothing. I have no idea what ross has done besides being on jay leno but he comes off as really condescending for someone who has never even done drag as far as i know… I wish TS madison would replace him permanently and it would just rotate between her and carson

I prefer Carson a lot more tbh, he is a lot kinder with the queens. Sometimes Ross can be condescending or dismissive and it’s not fair at all to queens who bust their 🍑 on that stage :/

It’s not their responsibility to find your talent.

The only funny thing about ross, was that he was asked to be a judge on the biggest drag show on the planet.

Ross gained fame as the "obvious gay that gets made fun of". But "Ross the Intern" hasn't really been questioned as to why he's a good judge for a drag competition.

Carson has a place on the panel, having experience in fashion and design. Ross isn't super funny and has no fashion experience. Maybe a new judge is in order?

I actually quite like Ross Matthews but I don't think his roll as a judge is to give good critiques I think his job is rather quirky side character

Ross has clearly overstayed his welcome and should be replaced by TS Madison

I think the biggest point is that the comment isn't constructive criticism. What doesn't work for you? What might work for you? Why doesn't it work for you? Instead he says a non sequitur and gives us nothing and I'm sure it's because he doesn't have much fashion know how

I mean Carson has the history and expertise, shown by his participation on Queer Eye. I’m not exactly sure why Ross is famous tbh. I’ll have to Google it.

Amethyst was one of my favorite early out queens I thought she was so funny! It’s too bad Ross did not give her constructive criticism but I think his job on the show is to insert caddy lines when it’s time to critique the queens. 🤷‍♀️

Funny because I far prefer Ross. I think he's hilarious and I don't think his critiques are harsh at all. I feel like he's able to give "Michelle critiques" while making it still sound kind and constructive

Carson is definitely a way better judge. I don’t remember Ross ever being funny. I don’t know why Ru introduces Ross as hilarious when he has never been even close to that.

I feel like he doesn't know how to do the "advice" part of it. He talks in circles a lot and makes a lot of jokes.

I think Ross forgets how his life could’ve been vastly different and he could’ve remained the queenie, handbag falling out of his mouth when he talked fat person had he not had that lucky break. His approach should be support and constructive criticism, not mean girl camera is on me

Ross gives nothing to the show time to get another mike ruiz or actual comedian or fashion showman from broadway or something ...we dont need someone willing to be a scab and is not only bc drew step back

I still think it's crappy they only had her on main stage for bad critiques. When she nailed snatch game she was just safe. Should have been in top and got good feedback when it was well earned. Like her whole time on season on main stage was bottom.

Unpopular Opinion: It is a competition and not a fucking academy. Judges are going to critique, whether bad or good, constructive or not. If it is ugly, the judges can say it is ugly, and not give anything constructive. You are there to compete and to be judged.

Yes but I’m all competitive shows I’ve seen, judges always say where you went wrong and what COULD have been done to make them better, never just “you did bad bye” But maybe I’ve not watched the same shows as you so we have a different perspective.

I don’t think judges have to walk contestants through how they could have done something differently but purely as a viewer if there isn’t a shred of insight to their criticism it’s just kinda bad or idle criticism. Like between ‘I just think this is bad/should have been done differently’ and ‘this might have been more successful had you done x’ I know the latter is way more engaging or interesting and actually kind of illustrates that the judge has meaningful or worthwhile things to say or a reason to be there. Like one reason people really like Raja’s fashion commentary isn’t because she’s like coaching these girls but she is like constantly displaying a lot of personal insight or understanding which is just generally more of an interesting or worthwhile contribution to any discussion.

Still amazed that drag race is still on, with all the negative things the girls say about the show

TBH , I cannot stand this show anymore after watching from the season 1. The inflated heads of every judge ( as if they're couture looks good or better, which honestly it doesn't) and the inhumane way of treating people that spend loads of $$ , just to get on. It's comparable to selling your soul to the devil losing all your $$ in the process. I miss the earlier seasons having 5 and 7 my favorites .... it's not who's the best female impersonator anymore. It's who has the best expensive costume show now. Your expected to give up everything, lose friendships , spend all your $$ , only to not win and have you replaced in a year. And All-stars??? Really girl ?? Have you seen the people they've brought back? I don't get it. I did at first, bring back the best. But something was off about it from the beginning. MiMi was asked. And other than wanting good TV, this goes to show you how cruel gays can get with each other. I'm gay and I stay away from pride and everything becoming mixed. I'm totally non PC , and don't buy into woke shit... but this show turned from being heart warming to downright mean , cruel and two faced. But Raja , and jinkx are probably the best to come from the show. Id rather be on an early season n win $25k vs now n win $200k. Ru , he's just a 👑 that has money n fame but where's the talent gone to? He would go home in EP 1 if had to participate

I hope this show gets cancelled honestly. It’s clear Ru doesn’t give a shit and the queens are treated poorly. Better than the first seasons but poorly nonetheless and many of them have suffered mental health issues from this show. So many bad things have come to light about it.

I think this is a desperate attempt to maintain relevancy after a poor and boring performance on the show.

Sometimes you shouldn’t necessarily be told what to fix. Only what wasn’t liked and why. As a game dev, if someone doesn’t like something, there could be hundreds of ways to do something different. They are only going to suggest one thing though. So sometimes just being told one didn’t like it is all you can get.

These queens literally let the fame go into their head. If a judge cannot even get real with you then why bother be in a television competition? It's reality tv, colorful commentary is expected, good and bad! If you really believe your talent can take you anywhere, any comment is water off a duck's back!

@@billyb7852 I agree, but at the same time I would give Ross a benefit of a doubt, he is not known for his razor edge criticisms, he is no Simon Cowell, not even by a longshot, those queens where just extra sensitive to begin with.

Hilarious or not, she needs to learn to take a joke, it’s a TV show they’re not there to give life advice constantly.

It sounds to me like a lot of these new queens don't get the point of judging, that its subjective. Ross' area of expertise is performance. Why would you expect a comedian to give you constructive criticism about your look? Instead of being defensive, she could accept that her aesthetic is not for everyone.

This wasnt amethyst getting butthurt over a negative critique, this was her getting annoyed by a lack of feedback and advice which is what a judge is meant to give you. Watch any show that involves judging, they dont simply say “this is bad and i dont like it” they say “theres too much lemon in this and it’s overwhelming and covering up the other flavors, if you used less lemon then it would’ve elevated the dish”
