When I purchased my first and only in amplifier in 2002, out of Tomball Texas. I had RFI issues. The radios low power setting was 50 watts. I had lots of RFI, so I stopped using it. 20 years later after, watching your videos I got it out of storage and put it back inline. I learned from you, not to drive it with more than 30 watts. And when I did have a problem, your advice was awesome. These little amps are great. Like you say , keep them cool and don't overdrive them. Thanks again for doing what you do and more. Big AL

I got to know. When BBI builds a 4 pill, it puts out 1300 watts. So why does this one only put out 500? Whay did they do to water it down? why would they water it?

People already know what this amp puts out so it can't be misrepresented with the usual fakery! Transistors rated from the factory at 110 watts will not put out 300 watts each as others would have you believe! This amp was probably purchased by a Ham that would know better than your average CB Buddy! As the old saying goes " You can Fool some of the People some of the Time but you can't Fool all of the People all of the Time!"

I have one, beautiful little amp, it's the old one, about 25 years old, it worked great till I broke it, I'm sending it back for repair, they tell me about $380 bucks even if the Toshiba 2sc2879's are blown. Mine has the 10 meter mod.

I run the same on 10 meters and that other band. my wilson 5000 permanent roof mount antenna is limited in bandswith. a decent mobile amp.

I'm currently running an RM SSB KL-400 in my auto. She puts out cleanly 200 PEP watts on SSB and around 90 watts AM. I also use another of these amps as a CLEAN driver for my Yaesu FL-2100B for 11 meters. A pair of 811s. That's bang enough for me. But this amp looks very interesting for me.

Early version of this are really good but like you said installation is a big key I also have a SG-500 SMART CUBE what it would take to make it work on 10 meters

At this point I would run HG 2879s. Other amp builders, Hopper and Carl have good results with them. Enough proof for me. BBi How clean is this ameritron. Compared to texas star ?

Brother this is not a CB amplifier you understand there's a difference this is an FCC approve type accepted piece of equipment there is a huge difference.

I have the 7300 but with AL 572 tube base amp. just lacking 6 meters. finding some amps the pass threw works great under 30Mhz but gets lossy in 6 meters. so a put cavity switch at radio before AL 572. to my outher antenna. and I use the ALC setting my output at around 900 watts PEP and still get out just fine . my 572/B love me. run cooler .I pre tune in dummy load and is very close when I switch to ant. and all my jumpers 3 ft. RG 400 ! that 8X is crap. very lossy at 6 meters. makes me wonder why spend great money on radio and amp and use RG 58/u or RG 8X jumpers. great fun BBI 73's

Check the heatsink. They usually look like it was plowed instead of machined. The remote needs protection, and might as well just reflow everything. QC sucks balls

@@Z28videogates You know I'm not sure now, and at this point I don't feel like removing all those screws again, to look, but I thought they read 2SC2879. I was getting 300 watts with 20 in from a XIEGU G90, and it would do 600 watts with 64watts input on some bands. It's being sent to Ameritron in the next few weeks.
