Amerie's producer on her first project got the attention of Beyonce's camp, and the next thing you know, he went to work for Beyonce and Amerie's future lost steam. Go back and listen to Crazy in Love and listen to the Go - Go style rhythms on it. The music industry is funny like that. It's unfortunate but how many times has that happened to artists who appeared to have a bright career ahead of them only for the Industry to push someone more connected, let's say to corporate insiders.

Crazy in Love is from 2003, this song is from 2005. On the other hand, the clip of this video is the winter version of the beginning of the clip of "Crazy In Love". It's not Beyoncé's fault that Amerie didn't even become a "One Hit Wonder"

Destiny's Child was a mega group for a handful of years before Beyonce went solo. She was already on the radar in a massive way given the success of Destiny's Child. Amerie released her first project, All I Have, in 2002. The album went certified gold in 2003. Rich Harrison, Amerie's producer, wrote Crazy in Love for Beyonce, which became a mega hit. Amerie was not a music industry darling. She didn't have the track record that Beyonce had coming from Destiny's Child, and her other projects before her solo album was released in 2003. My comments were focused on how the music industry controls who becomes popular and who gets pushed aside. It is not about Beyonce being at fault as to why Amerie didn't get the shine that her talent afforded her. lt is the Music Business that put their resources behind an already established person. I wonder what Beyonce's career would have been if she was a solo artist, like Amerie, who didn't come from one of the best selling girl groups of all time. I guess we will never know if her career would've taken off or if it would've been stalled like Amerie's was back then.
